Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC contacted my associate on December 11, 2008 in an apparent attempt to collect a debt to the original creditor Sprint in the amount of $315. This debt with Sprint was settled years ago and this is not the first company to resurrect the debt and attempt to collect it again. In that case as well the company was operating in a dishonest and perhaps fraudulent manner. Is it illegal for one to contact people with imaginary debts based on real debts from the past? Maybe.

Again, this debt to Sprint was settled long ago--Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC, while enjoying protected free speech like you and I, has lied to my associate in an attempt to obtain $315 which is not owed for any service or product.
