Jefferson Capital Systems ripoff runaround dishonest St. Cloud Minnesota

I previously had a bad debt in collections. When I tried to contact the previous collection agency, they no longer had the debt, but could not tell me who currently had it. Last month, Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC, 16 McLeland Road, St. Cloud, MN 56303, appeared on my credit report for this debt (I had never received any correspondence from this company regarding the debt, or the fact that they had taken over the debt).

I contacted JCS to make payment arrangements and sent payment in two weeks ago, requesting a letter of satisfaction. This week I received two letters from JCS stating that they have not received my payment. I contacted the number provided in their correspondence (866.705.3609) and reach a company called Midland Credit Management out of San Diego, CA. I am told that they do not have my account information and get different stories about whether or not they are affiliated with JCS. One person told me that they purchased JCS and provided me a number to contact JCS at (888.409.5667 - which is no longer in service), another person told me they are in no way affiliated with JCS and they could not help me; another person put me on hold and then transferred me into a phone cue where I could not get through to a live person.

I have been on the web searching for contact information for this company, because I fear I have been ripped off. Here are additional numbers I have tried contacting for JCS: 888.516.6534, 866.417.2591. If anyone has any contact information for this company, I would appreciate it. I have been working hard to clear up my credit, and this is the last debt I have.
