Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Does not offer refund and did not honor exchange Calabasas California

I ordered a $259 +$100 freight shipped 4 foot workbench cabinet for a work station I am furnishing as an independent contractor. I had to order it online because I do not have a vehicle capable of transporting the work bench since my line of work does not require a vehicle for hauling.

The workbench arrived in it's packaging but when the packaging was removed it was obviously dropped on one of the corners of the wooden countertop, which smashed the corner as well as twisted the top in a way that distorted the metal sides and prevented from the top drawer from opening.

They delivered it anyway. When I called about a refund, they could send me a label to send it back in it's original packaging but that would be impossible because of the way this item is packaged. I cannot lift a 200 lbs workbench out of a box by myself so the packaging was destroyed. My only remaining option was to exchange the item at a store location.

I called the store to make sure they had an item in stock. I made an appointment to spend $300 on movers to take the workbench to the store location and bring the new one back. I called the store to confirm the day and that they would have one available. When I arrived on the day, the new work bench had already been sold with the reasoning being, "Oh we had a big sale this weekend." Instead of a refund I was offered a gift card for the amount of the work bench without shipping since they can't refund shipping that I've paid for. I was told to call back in the next day to see if they got the workbench in because it's only a slight possiblity that they might get one with their shipment. I would have to now spend at least another $300 to get the work bench.

I called back customer service, all they could do for me is refund my frieght shipping of $100.

At the end of the day, I spent roughly $600 with absolutely nothing to show for it besides a gift card I will never use because I will never go back to this company again.
