Home Depot changed discount policies Nationwide

HD (and others) has given a 10% military discount for active duty and retired service members. As of 6/25/25, they now have a new policy severely restricting that opportunity to the point where no military person should even desire to visit.

Their new policy now states a $400 annual maximum, as well as excluding (per their website) --"Please note that certain items, services and fees are excluded. These exclusions include but are not limited to commodity products (including lumber, wire, bldg materials'), value-priced merchandise, appliances, special order items, tool rental fees, labor items, gift cards and delivery services. The military discount cannot be used in combination with national account benefits."

The chat agent did not reply to my query to define "building materials," leaving me hanging and waiting to reply//I hung up after a ten minute wait, informing them that, after I pay off my credit card bill with them, I will no longer purchase from them again.

I am also of the opinion that other "big box" stores will follow suit, sticking it to veterans and active duty alike.
