I would like to see if it is possible to receive some assistance pertaining to an oil change i received in my vehicle on December 22, 2024, which has now spiraled into an incredible, blatant disrespectful, incredibly unprofessional attempt to resolve the issue that was the aftermath of what should have been a simple, routine maintenance oil change.
In short, my vehicle was without problem upon arriving at the Valvoline service center for an oil change. After the service was completed, and less than 3 miles from the service center, my engine had a very loud, unsettling knock. When this started, my immediate intention was to turn around and go directly back to the Valvoline location, and as I proceeded to turn around, the knock got worse. Being closer to my home, and fearing I would not even have the ability to make it back to Valvoline, i reversed my direction once again and slowly guided my wounded vehicle to my home so i could call the service center for some guidance on what to do next to resolve this issue. After making it home and getting my vehicle in the garage, the nightmare with this service center began.
I did call the center to report the events that had unfolded, and each phase of communication and action that followed continued to grow with increasing malice, intimidation, disrespect, lies, deceit, and even threatening gestures from each chain of command as my attempts to get this issue resolved in an orderly fashion, are still as of yet being denied.
At this point, I called my personal mechanic to come diagnose the possible issue, and once he arrived and used a vehicle diagnostics coder, his report returned 3 codes being shown as the problem, and armed with this information, i did once again attempt to contact the service center with this information, only to once again be met with anger, denial, disrespect, and foul gestures from people who were supposed to be in an authority role, but showed lack of empathy and refused to listen to what i had to say, and furthermore, accused me of saying things that were not accurate in any form or fashion.
The service center did, however, insist on sending someone out to my home to do their own diagnosis, and upon this person's arrival and computer report, it was deemed that there were 25 codes that were returned, which is a big difference from the 3 my professional mechanic reported. At this juncture,

One of the codes is indicating no oil pressure. The others are unrelated to an oil change. It sounds like you completely ignored the big red oil pressure warning light and kept driving the car even as the engine sounded like it was about to explode. You should have immediately turned off the engine, pulled over, and called a tow truck. When there is no oil pressure, you only have a few seconds to turn off the car before the engine self destructs. Most likely there was no oil pressure from the beginning, and you should not have been driving the car to begin with. They either forgot to put oil in, or didn't install the filter correctly. You most likely need a new engine at this point. The Valvoline people might pay, but I doubt it. It sounds like your negligence likely turned a small problem into a catastrophic one. If you turned on the engine without fixing the oil pressure problem, you further damaged it and that's why there are 25 codes. In any case it doesn't matter, it's trashed. Look into small claims court.
