My cousin passed away unexpectedly and we are a close family. Due to illness of my own child, I could not travel several states away to attend the funeral. I immediately went online and ordered flowers. I chose a company and an arrangement (of a considerable sum) that was listed as having same day delivery available. I requested delivery for the next day (and had to pay a much higher delivery fee to have my flowers delivered in under 48 hours), and was required to give funeral/viewing information to make sure the flowers were delivered prior to the beginning of services. My flowers were not delivered for two days and arrived after the funeral. My cousin's parents, children, and grandchildren, friends and other loved ones did not know I sent flowers. It looks as though I ignored my cousin's death.
1-800-flowers say they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. But all they are willing to do is reimburse me the delivery charge and offer me a coupon equal to 15% off of this order. What about the flowers that goes to the trash? I paid an extremely high amount of money, as I chose a large, beautiful bouquet and that is all they are willing to do?
They do not carry out as promised and do not honor their guarantees. Had the flowers arrived on-time (or at least prior to the funeral), I probably wouldn't care so much. If they had given me a full refund, I at least would think they tried and it was an honest mistake. As it stands, they are dishonorable, lying, greedy, inconsiderate jerks.
