I have been a member of 24 hour fitness for over 15 years now and purchased a all club membership which allowed me access to all their clubs at that time.  Now they have changed the rules and want over $35 additional per month to use clubs I had been using!

The club near Northgate mall in Seattle moved one block to a new facility that they now designate "Super Sport". When I went to see the club I was denied access and the manager said I would have to pay the $35+ a month fee or wait until they have a special for $10.00 a month.

It seems that they now have a new designation for certain clubs and are claiming that my all club membership no longer includes locations I had been using.

I had the same experience when I tried to access their club in Waikiki. I had used that club every time I traveled to Hawaii. The club had not changed at all except that they now offer towel service, repainted, and upgraded some equipment (routine upgrade to an existing facility). I was denied access unless I paid additional money for a one time visit or I had to upgrade to this new designation at a much higher rate.

I called and spoke with several managers trying to work my way up to the decision maker with my complaint. I did not receive calls back after leaving several messages.

What really outraged me is that my 71 year old mother who lives close to me, went to the Northgate Club in Seattle to use the facility. They also told her that she could not use the club without upgrading. My mother voiced her objection and told them that she also purchased an "all club membership". The club manager Kalin told my mother "when I get old, I am going to be happy"!!! My mother replied, do you think I should be happy about this?

24 hour fitness is abusing their loyal customers of many years. They are taking away the use of certain locations previously available to members they had sold all club memberships to by re-designating then with a different name. They are taking away benefits. They are attempting to gouge and ripoff their loyal customers with this unscrupulous scheme.

I hope a class action law suit is coming up soon.  I'm on board!!!

Please contact me if you have had similar experiences with 24 hour fitness. Please contact me if you are part off a legal team willing to take on 24 hour fitness for these unethical business practices. The way they treated my mother is clear discrimination to the elderly and completely out of line!
