A & M Photo World false advertisment internet and phone quotes are two seperate prices Brooklyn New York

I have been researching the Canon Digital Rebel for guite some time now. I had stumbled accross this company called A & M PhotoWorld on the internet.

They were advertising the camera as selling for $539.00. This is a price set for the camera kit which includes the camera body and the 18-55mm lens and the factory included accessories.

When the camera first hit the market, it was selling for over $1,000. At first I had thought that this price of $539.00 was too good to be true. Which in fact it was and is!

I had called A & M PhotoWorld at (800) 862-7972 to ask a few simple questions about the camera. I was told to hold and the phone had disconnected. So I called back, got my answer and then asked what price they were asking for this camera.

They quoted me $699.00 over the phone, but yet they are advertising this camera for $539.00 on the internet. I had mentioned to the guy I was talking to that on the internet the camera was priced at $539.00. His response was they do not have an internet site. I said really?! I was just on the website last night. His comment was, no that wasn't us, we don't have a website and asked if there was anything else he could help me with and if not we could not continue with this phone call. CLICK! He hung up the phone on me before I could say yes or no.

So I called back again trying to get ahold of someone in the customer service dept. The same guy answered the phone. I told him that I was looking in the back of a Popular Photography magazine, and in their ad it clearly said www.amphotoworld.com.

He once again proceeded to tell me that, that is not them and they do not have an internet site. I asked for his name and he once again hung up the phone on me. CLICK!

Now when you call and listen to the automated answering system after their open hours, it is mention very clearly to check out their web site at www.amphotoworld.com. But yet this guy insists that they do not have a websit. Something is very fishy about this company.

The first day I contacted A & M was on Febuary 25th 2005. I called them again on Febuary 27th 2005 to see if I could talk to someone else. A guy named Bradly aswered the phone. I asked for a price on the Digital Rebel. He also quoted me $699.00. I again mentioned the price that was advertised on their website. He said no that is the wrong price, the price is $699.00. I then asked him if their website is up to date, and Bradly said yes. I then said to Bradly, so you do have a website, Bradly said yes we do.

After finding this website rip-off report.com, I see there are many other complaints about this company. A & M PhotoWorld has very poor customer service, they are dishonest and currupt. There is no doubt in my mind they are practicing false advertisment. They should be prosecuted for this and be put out of business for good!!!!!!!!!!
