I requested an international drivers permit (IDP) from Tripple A in Heathrow Florida because I live overseas as retired military. I sent in an application, a photo, a check for the license. I was also told to send my credit card information if I was interested in Priority Express shipping. I agreed to do so and after sending the application for my IDP, I received an email from a tripple A employee stating that if I wish to have Priority Express mail, she has to bill my credit card for the cost of shipping which was $20.66. That was a mistake because the money was billed to tripple A instead of the post office so I don't even know how much the actual cost was. I waited a month and no license was mailed to me So, I contacted the same employee and told her the situation and that I never received it. She gave me the tracking number and told me to wait and that she couldnt guarantee faster shipping to an APO address. I asked her if that was so why did she ask me to pay $20.66 for express shipping. All she said is that she cant control the mail. So, I call back again one last time and tell her that I never received the IDP and that I wanted my money back. She refused to give me a refund and told me that she is not responsible for what the post office does. She also told me that she would not send out another one without my having to pay the fees again! So, I contacted the post office who said that the mail was delivered to Frankfurt Germany which is the obvious wrong address. So, I attempted to once again get tripple A to refund the money for my application as well as the shipping cost and they refused!! Beware! This is a scam! Here is what I believe happened. I was ripped off and here's why! My credit card was billed to tripple A instead of the post office and I mistakenly relied on them to be honest about purchasing the label to ship my IDP faster. So, I never received proof besides the tracking number that the amount of $20.66 was paid to the post office. Then, I believe the employee purposely sent it to the wrong address so I wouldnt receive it and I would have to pay twice for shipping and an application! So, now they have $40.66 of my money and I never received the purchase I made. I definitely wasn't going to send them another $40.66 to send another one. I believe if I didn't catch on I would have had to pay twice or even three times for a service that was never given to me!! Whatever you do! Do not trust these people to buy your shipping labels or even process an IDP application for an APO address! Its a scam and I'm sure I am not the only one who has been subjected to it! Military and Civilians beware! Do not use this service to obtain an international drivers license!!!
