Academy Bank Armed Forces Bank, Dickinson Financial, Douglas Neeb, Attorney Credit Builder Savings Account, FCRA violations, Douglas Neeb Littleton Colorado

I signed up with Academy Bank's "Credit Builder" account which is secured credit card.

Since that time, my credit has worsened.  The bank chose to close my account and report that I have a balance. THis has caused my credit to plummet and made it impossible for me to get a home loan for my family. (I have two small children and I am a single dad).  

Since that time, I have offered to pay off the balance (which is $49.) and their attorney, who is both acrimonious and who feels he can provide me legal advise, has refused any conciliation.  Mr. Douglas Deeb, who General Counsel and VP has sent me over twenty emails--some accusatory, others rude, others offering incorrect advise. (A lawyer cannot advise a non-client.)

Mr, Deeb also lied to me stating that the bank cannot remove the negative trade line from my credit file citing regulation V, which is purely related to a banks' requirement to research disputes.  Any creditor can remove a negative trade line for any reason.  There is absolutely no law against that in the FCRA.   The fact that Academy Bank wishes to prolong my negative credit shows that they are not who you should do business with.

I have filed Arbitration with JAMS Denver, which I highly suggest anyone with similar problems do.  THe cost to you is minimal while the expense to the bank can run as high as $50,000 to $100,000.  Just search for the Savings Agreement (that secures the credit card) and file your complaint with Jams (Send a certified copy to the Bank.)   www.jamsadr.com    For the Arbitration agreement, Google:  "Armed Forces Bank Arbitration"

If you are in the Armed Forces or a relative of a family member who is a Veteran or in the Armed Forces like myself, do not bank with Academy Bank.  They are a quasi Payday Loan bank praying on those with credit issues.  And they will not "build your credit."
