I purchased furnitute that was under 1300 dollars, I placed a down payment as well as made 7 payments to the account which total over 1700 dollars, I called customer service and asked what is my interest rate and she replied she could not tell me.
I said I am paying for somethign that cost under 1300 but you are making me pay a total of 4131.00 on a bed and dresser. That is predatory lending, and unfair price hike. I am just going to take it as a loss and return the furniture, I do not want to pay over 3000 for furniture that was not even being sold for that amount the price tag wasnt even 1500 yet i am being asked to pay 4131 dollars

Same Old Story

At the start of a lian, most of your payment goes to interest and as you go on, more and more goes to principal. This is STANDARD and a partner financial education 101. The reason YOUR interest is so high is because YOU destroyed YOUR credit by YOU not paying YOUR bills on time.
If you didn't want a high APR, then get a bank loan. Of course, that won't happen! Now you want to just walk out on this creditor by giving back the furniture. Same old story! Serial deadbeat all the way, right???

The time to ask what interest rate you are paying is BEFORE you sign the contract, not after you have signed the contract, and made payments totalling $1700.
I said I am paying for somethign that cost under 1300 but you are making me pay a total of 4131.00 on a bed and dresser. That is predatory lending, and unfair price hike.
- It very well be Predatory lending, but it is something YOU agreed to. It takes TWO, one side to offer credit, and one side to ACCEPT the credit. If you felt the interest rate was too high you could have turned around and walked out of the store.
I am just going to take it as a loss and return the furniture
- You probably ended up with some sort of lease. So before you do, you better make sure there are no clauses in the contract that require some sort of penalty for doing that
I do not want to pay over 3000 for furniture that was not even being sold for that amount the price tag wasnt even 1500 yet i am being asked to pay 4131 dollars
- You may not WANT to, but you AGREED to and now you need to take responsibility for your choices.
With this type of attitude I imagine you will be with Sub-Prime lenders for a long time to come.
