We hired American Eagle Movers (aka Incredible Bulk Moving Co.) to handle our move from Florida to California. The salesman (Marc)did a great sales pitch about how the company would take care of us. He even convinced me that additional insurance was not necessary because they would take extra care with our items.

On the day of our move the loaders were over 2 hours later arriving than promised. I immediately discovered that an additional fuel surcharge had been added even though I had been quoted a fixed price. I called to complain and had the charge removed. When they finished loading our items I asked for a copy of the inventory list. I was told by the driver that I would not receive any paperwork until all of our items were delivered.

When I would call for updates regarding the arrival date of our items I kept getting pushed off a couple of days. On the day our items arrived the driver was by himself in a rental truck. He intended to unload everything by himself instead of hiring a helper. We had a lot of stuff and some of it was huge so I ended up helping unload our items.

A large number of our items were damaged from improper loading and water damaged that occurred while the truck went through a major storm in Texas. Our items had been unloaded and reloaded at least once. The driver admitted it was the worst damage he had ever seen. We took lots of pictures. Unfortunately, the picture sizes are too large to upload to this site. Additionally, we had several items that were not delivered. The company initially told me they found one item in their warehouse, but later changed their story claiming they never made that statement.

When I asked the driver to document the damage on the inventory list he told me it was too much to write down and I should call the company to complain. When we had finished unloading the driver left without having me sign anything or giving me any paperwork.

I tried working with the company representatives, but once they realized I had no paperwork they shut down on me. They offered me a little over $200 for damage that ran into the thousands of dollars. I contacted the FL Consumer Protection Agency seeking help. I received a response that the company refused to cooperate so the case had to be closed as unresolved.

Stay away from this company. They talk a good game, but once they have your possessions they will take advantage of you.

We are sorry that you received service that prompted you to contact us with a complaint, and we regret any inconvenience or frustration that your experience has caused you. After re-evaluation of your paperwork copies previously provided to you on the relocation date, we can plainly see that your claim for damaged items was review and processed. An offer was sent to you for such items. The settlement was based on the 0.60 cents per pound carrier liability insurance chosen by you prior to the relocation. Please remember that your relocation was performed under a torrential rain storm, unavoidably some items got wet, and these items were not damaged. As for the Department of Transportation complaint placed by you, we would like to inform you that they came to our office and investigated this claim; all paperwork and supportive documentation was provided as proof. We committed no violation and all documentation was signed and agreed upon. We are sorry you are not happy with the settlement offer; the settlement offer still stand. If you accept the previous settlement offer sent to you, please sign it and fax it to: 1-888-392-4934.
