American Eagle Movers Damaged and Lost Items Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Do Not Use American Eagle Movers!

On the day of delivery they unloaded a broken mirror from the truck. The mirror was not in any kind of wrap. The driver noticed this as well and told me to file a claim. 

American Eagle Movers also damaged a dresser. It came off the truck with several scratches and one large gash that has missing chunks out of the dresser. Again, the driver also noticed the damaged and told me to add it to the claim.

At the time of delivery I noticed a tool box did not come off the truck. After reviewing the inventory list with the driver he agreed it was not delivered. The driver signed off on the inventory list as not delivering the tool box (which had tools inside). The driver said the tool box would be shipped to us.

I did e-mail American Eagle Movers pictures of the damaged items and also asked them to ship the tool box to my home. I did not get a reply.  I called and left messages. I did not get a reply. Finally after about a month of e-mails and leaving messages I got someone on the phone. I was told my claim had been received but it "takes time". I was told they would look for the missing tool box.
About another month went by so I e-mailed and left messages checking on the status of my claim. Again, no reply.

Finally, after reporting American Eagle Movers to the BBB I got a reply.  They offered $30 to settle my claim. They did not say sorry for the bad customer service. They denied having the tool box and told me to put scratch guard on my dresser. I refused to settle the claim. That amount does not even come close to covering the stolen tool box and tools. Yes, I said stolen. They know it went on the truck and they know it did not come off the truck. As for my mirror that cost over $200 it is now in the trash. I just try to cover the missing chunks in my dresser with picture frames.

I am very unhappy with American Eagle Movers and would not recommend them nor use them again.
