In January I learned the hard way that you're only allowed to take up to $2000 off of the card per month.  I was stranded..I called in to Amex bluebird and was to,d..sorry..nothing we can do...I have no family in ny..I had to walk from Harlem to the Bronx because even though my wages were on the card (I had just gotten paid) I could not access MY money and was told they could not do anything for me. Lesson learned fast forward to February 24 Given that you can only withdraw $500 per day from the ATM machine I start early with you during my rent so that I no longer wait with it.. I wasn't sure how much money I had taken out for the month already so I called American express over to find out well here is where the drama begin. I was told by a customer service representative that there was a block or concern on my card and I needed to contact different department okay no worries I know that I am the rightful owner of this card so please transfer me know that was not possible before a department isn't open on Sundays so I will have to wait until Monday. The issue is no one ever contacted me about there being any fraud on my card I called in to find out another issue the other thing is they couldn't tell me what was wrong with my car even after being transferred to two different level supervisors. I made a comment that I'm so surprised that American Express would do this to their customers the response I received was wow this is an American Express prepaid card so you will not get the same service. I responded but the American Express Trustmark is what made me become involved in this program so what you were telling me is that this same level of customer service is not provided. The representative responded yes we do not extend the same courtesy to American Express prepaid customers as we do to Our cardholders.. Well guess what I am also an American Express cardholder. I was then told well the block was placed on your account on February 13 now I know there has to be an issue because I have use my card without any problems up until this very day yet I am being told by numerous representatives and supervisors and managers that my car does not work my paycheck is direct deposited onto this card. Had I not called and no one would have contacted me about the fraud I was told by the manager that American Express bluebird does not contact its customers about fraud they basically leave you to be standing in front of a grocery cashier with $400 worth of groceries only to be told that your card has been declined. Also it makes no sense that the comfort they gave me was go ahead and swipe the card to make purchases but you cannot withdraw money from the ATM machine that makes zero sense to me given that anyone can make purchases over the Internet or in a store but isn't my ATM portion secured with a pin number? Really poor customer service this card is no good it really leads you in a thong. The departments are not open at the same time and there is no seamless communication between the different departments. The customer service agents also have no power or idea of the program they don't know what is going on and when you get to the supervisors supervisors have no power over anything either. Basically putting your money on an American express bluebird creek card is like giving your money away they will only let you access it when they want to they are not helpful and the customer's service agents require a lot more training. I was told by George..a manager..that he was the most senior person available to help me..and because he was unable to help me...I should  ID number 74027 that I should contact the CEO of American Express Ken Chennault. Overall do not use this car you will not be able to access your money if there are any issues they will not be able to help you they cannot reset the accounts when the limits are reached they cannot make any adjustments they cannot do anything at all to help you the only helpful thing that I received was the address Thomistic can Chennault's office which I already had because I work in the same building. Ken I will hand-deliver my letter to your office thank you I'm hoping you can help this program is horrible.. I could have chosen any number of prepaid cards to direct deposit my paycheck on two but I chose the American express bluebird card because of the American Express Trustmark because of the service that American Express is known for providing its customers I felt secure I felt sure I felt comfortable and what I got was the exact opposite. American Express always meant to me confidence now I'm not confident when I go shopping I'm not confident when I need to pay a bill that I will be able to do so I'm not confident that The little bit of medication my son has left in the refrigerator will last us until tomorrow until I can go out.  and purchase more medication because what happens when my card doesn't work even though there's

Money on the card money there I can't get my fence medication I'm going on vacation soon out of the country and I am afraid that I will not have access to my money

Ive always had faith in American Express and while I felt dismissed and wronged previously - once the corporate office gained wind of what their customer representatives had conveyed to me (incorrectly) I was contacted by someone in Senior management ( in less than 4 hours of my complaint - way to go Amex!!!) And this gentleman walked me through would had gone wrong. 

It seems I was provided wrong information - and because of that Amex will use my case as an example when rebuilding their training plan.  I can tell you 100% my faith has been restored in Amex. I was reassured that the Amex BlueBird card customers will and should be treated the same...same level or courtesy...same level of support...same level of respect...I feel Amex worked QUICKLY to address my concern...and even quicker to review internally their training.  thank you Amex..in my book..you still ROCK!
