I read the report from a fellow victim on American Hardwood Floors, Inc. and I realize now that I too have been victimized by this company. I have spent over $5000 and have not received any wood flooring from them. My order was May 21st, 2004 and I have been trying to contact this company constantly to see where my wood flooring is. They claimed that it was "in the mill" or that it would be, "...scheduled to be ready in 3-5 weeks" however I have received nothing. As soon as there is some hint that my order would be delivered soon, they reneg and then it's another 3-5 weeks. I have been told 3-5 weeks for the last 4 months.
I too was faced with cancelling the order, but under no circumstances would I give them 1/3 of my money for nothing (they claim to have some bull restocking fee or cancellation fee).
In any case, I am quite fed up with this company and wish to pursue legal action against them. I would rather give my money to a blood sucking attorney than let those American Hardwood F--kers have it. If there are more victims out there, come forward...there is strength in numbers.
As for fellow victim Jim in NY. Please contact me through email or this site and we'll see what we can do to get our money back.
By the way, I am not sure who Richard Miller is, but the name could be fictitious. The president of AHF, Inc is Richard Ferrante and the treasurer is Barbara (his wife maybe). The company's registered address is the one I have listed which is in Las Vegas. I have found this information through talking with their sales people during various times.
I would also mention that this company refuses to respond to mail or phone. They frequently hang up on me when I call and their 'shipping chat' is total bull. They fabricate lies about my product constantly and are perfect examples that there is no such thing as a 'perfect liar'.
I too urge people NOT to order from this company. It has been a source of constant stress for me.

Update for 'victims' of AHF I indeed received my wood...FINALLY
AUTHOR: Lance - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, March 28, 2005
I indeed received my wood...FINALLY! After 5 months (not 5 weeks like the sales people stated), I received my wood from a CANADIAN trucker (not "Bruce" from Ohio). Apparently, the Brazilian Cherry wood that I had ordered was shipped through Canada from China (I am assuming the raw wood came from Brazil but who knows?). The 24 hour delivery notification was actually 5 minutes before the truck arrived and I had to rush home from work and help the trucker unload 4000 lbs of hardwood flooring - 70 lbs at a time.
There was no company name on the boxes of pre-finished flooring and there was no warranty information inside any box. I followed up my concern about this with AHF, but they deferred me to their ever helpful "Shipping Chat". I have had no resolution on this.
I guess I am just thankful that the whole ordeal is over - even if I don't have my warranty information. The flooring is very beautiful, but I would have gladly paid another $1000 instead of the rigamarole that AHF put me through. I am still corresponding with the State of NV consumer protection on my complaint as I hope that my actions will somehow prevent others from being exposed to what I went through. The delays in shipping because the mill was still processing my wood was suspect as my "freshly milled and finished" wood was in boxes that had a significant layer of dust on the tops indicating that this wood was sitting in a warehouse for some time.
Good luck to all who are dealing with AHF.
I must also mention that the National Wood Flooring Association was helpful in giving me peace of mind when I was at my wits end.

My previous submittal was interrupted -
As I was saying, AHF stated that there is a 'premium' fee for getting wood quicker, but I was not informed of any such fee nor was a 'premium' fee listed on their website. They told me 3-5 weeks for my wood (it's been 4 1/2 months so far) and they did not have any contigencies or caveats on that statement other than it is 'estimated' 3-5 weeks. 4 1/2 months (with no product) indicates that 3-5 weeks is an outright lie as they are telling potential customers slightly longer lead times (like 6-8 weeks).
Also, another AHF customer who filed a rip-off report for no product delivery had this rebuttal from AHF:
The customer has received their flooring and there is no complaint. We ship 100's of shippments each month and we try to accomodate our customers the best we can.
As far as the 100's of shipments each month goes, I have tracked almost 50 order numbers through their website from 8/26 to 9/26 and of the 50, only 4 orders indicated having been shipped. I am not saying that I exhaustively looked through every order on their tracking site - what I am saying is that statistically, out of 50 orders, less than 10% were shipped to a customer. I doubt very much (and their own website indicates) that they ship 100's of orders each month.
I have a source that told me that this company has a history of late deliveries - up to 7 months late. I was also told that it is 'atypical' to wire funds for reserving and order of hardwood flooring.
Finally, AHF has recently stated that my wood has 'shipped'. From where to where is the question and they will not divulge any information about who the shipping company is. For a company that has many logged complaints about the way they do business, you'd think that they would bend over backwards for their customers - providing actual status of where the product is and when it will arrive. Instead, they tell me nothing.
Their credibility is shot and they do nothing to try and turn it around.

American Hardwood Floors company information

For anyone interested in more details of American Hardwood Floors, Inc., the company is registered in Nevada and lists Richard Ferrante as president and Barabara Ferrante as secretary and treasurer. The address listed for these people is a post office box in a Mailboxes etc. establishment (or maybe it's a Fedex place now).
The address and Resident agent that is listed on the Nevada website is;
Acorn Corporate Services, Inc.
3225 S. Mcleod Dr #110
Las Vegas, NV 89121
According to the Nevada State Statutes, a resident agent must be listed for a company to be registered in Nevada and that agent must have a legitimate mailing address where legal papers may be served.
I was told by an AHF salesperson that they are registered in NV for tax purposes and mentioned that many companies do the same thing. I believe that the people in the call center I talked to were in CA. I found this out before American Hardwood Floors, Inc. people started hanging up on my and refusing to return my calls and terminating the 'shipping chat' when I ask them tough questions.
My latest status for my product (which was ordered over 4 months ago in May 2004) is 6-8 weeks. This was after they told me 4-6 weeks over the 'chat' the same day. I was told 3-4 weeks the week before. Liar, liar pants on fire!!
Besides legal action, I have informed the National Hardwood Flooring Association which posts their logo endorsement on the AHF home page. I would encourage dissatisfied AHF customers to write the NHFA and complain that AHF is not meeting the NHFA standards of conduct and the AHF should be expelled. It probably isn't much, but if enough people 'wittle' away at the endorsers and have entities like the NHFA warn other folks to stay away from this company, it might either help shut AHF down or wake them up.
Of course, criminal behavior such as what AHF appears to be doing should be reported to the Nevada State Attorney General - also, the AG of the home state of the victims should also be contacted.
