American Shingle American Shingle Took My Money, Weaseled Out of the Work! No Roof! Motgomery, Alabama

We paid American Shingle $4,298.82 on May 17, 2010 to put a new roof on our house. I only hired them because my neighbor I have know for 30 years worked for them and I trusted him.

Insurance paid for this due to storm damage. American Shingle told us we would be called with the date. We received a call telling us July 26, 2010 is when they would be here to put on the new roof. They called on July 20, 2010 to reschedule the date to Sept. 2010. Water is leaking in my house now. Then on July 22, 2010 they called with a new date of August 5, 2010. On August 3, 2010 they called again to reschedule for August 19, 2010. I told them I wanted to cancel and get my money back. I called back on August 4, 2010 and they told me they could do that but they would have to send me a cancellation package certified mail. I have received nothing as of August 11, 2010. They called today August 11, 2010 to reschedule again for October 2010. I believe they have no intentions of doing my roof. I am hiring an attorney to get my money back. How many other people do they have their money but they are not doing the job the just keep putting us off. My aunt that lives in Atlanta and called tonight, August 12,2010 to tell me American Shingle was on the news in Atlanta and that they had taken peoples money from Insurance Companies and did not come back to do the work. They kept putting them off just like what they are doing to me. She said they are closing and laying off people in Atlanta and not doing the work for which they have been paid. Stay away from American Shingle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
