My sister was hospitalized and in a coma the morning of 12/28/15. 

The flight I could get was cancelled due to weather and I couldn't get another flight out until the 30th because of the holidays

Later that night, I was informed she was to be pulled off life suport which I asked to be delayed until we could get out there.

My brother asked me to research flight options because they were unable to find anything going out before 1/1/16.

I found a flight going out on 12/30/15 in first class

I purchased ticket at 15 minutes past midnight on the 29th. I later learned she had passed away at 10:15 on the 28th

Aon refused my claim due to the death being prior to the purchase.

I informed them of the time difference between the East and West Coast and the 2 hour difference between the death and ticket purchase.

They refuse to re-evaluate my situation. So I am out almost $4,000 and the insurance I purchased was crap. 

I was across the states at the time of her death. I was not informed right away. 

It is hard enough loosing a sibling, but then you have these insurance companies that take your money and do not take any special circumstances into account. I am just a number to them.

This is a horrible way to work a business and wouldn't recommend them to anyone for anything
