1. Loan Sold Credit Suisse sold my loan to ASC in the first month. As with other complaints here, I too got a notice with no phone number, no loan information, nothing! I had to Google them to find a phone number but of course, they could find nothing about my loan with a SS# search. With Credit Suisse's help I managed to get a payment to them which they were able to forward to ASC.

2. FEES! and Late Application of Payments I quickly discovered ASC had no online payment system so was forced to pay by phone... which is $15. If, god forbid, you have a question about something regarding your payment or escrows, it's $20. To avoid the $15, I started paying my account with my bank's online bill pay. I'd pay within the first 5 days of the month and invariably, the payment would miraculously hit ASC on the 16th, resulting in a late fee of $55.

Innovative company that they are, they've instituted online payments! Great! Except it's $10 to do it. Let me get this straight - it costs ME more to make their job easier, with less paper and labor? I guess we have to pay for their wonderful new website.

3. HOI and escrows I recently switched HOI providers and my new policy was $500 less than my previous policy. I receive a statement saying my new payment is now GOING UP $240 per month because they predict a deficit in my escrow account. If anything, it should be $60 LESS per month. I was also reimbursed $600 from the previous insurer which went back into escrow.

When still on my old policy 6 mos ago, they force-placed insurance for 1.5 months because they didnt have the Dec Page for the policy for the next year (same insurer as the previous year). My insurer wouldnt give me a Dec Page because ?(&*% ASC NEVER PAID them from my escrows! They were at this standoff. ASC is holding money for the policy they want to see the Dec Page for but the insurer hasnt been paid so wont give it to me/them. Assholes. I didnt know they force-placed until I went online today.

4. Online Payment screw-up and consequences I paid a portion of my payment ($900) on 12/22/06. I understand they will not apply it until the full amount is paid and that's fine. I just wanted it out of my account so I wouldnt spend it on the holidays. I paid the difference online ($1070), on their site (for $10) on Friday, 12/29/06. On 01/01/07 instead of the partial payment, they attempted to take the full monthly payment ($1970) from my bank account AND the half-payment I made on 12/22/06. I did not have the funds for the full amount + $900. The $900 cleared but the $1970 has been attempted 2 times now.

When I discovered the problem today. I called them. I was concerned that I would now be reported for a lateness (this was December's payment). He tells me that Oh NO, I wont be reported because I wasnt even LATE! It was due 01/01 and received 01/01. I assure him that it d**n well was late, I know - see the late fee? He tells me there's no late fee though I can see it right on the website. I go through the timeline of transactions 8 times. I tell him I need to pay the difference that is outstanding since the $1970 has bounced, I do still owe the $1070 that was supposed to come out. He takes the account info, tells me that once it's done it cant be reversed and gives me a confirmation. Okay, cool, now I just need to tell my bank, show them what happened and get the NSF fees waived...

BUT WAIT! Robert then tells me that he shows the full payment of $1970 was taken out today. My bank account shows no pending transactions but he assures me that YES, it went through today. WHAT? So now he's taken the $1070 I owed (and charged me $20 for talking to him) that we finally agree was late, THEN tells me the WRONG amount of $1970 they incorrectly tried to process, is now also clearing? WTF?

I'm still not losing my temper but trying to figure out how to stop the payment. He then says "you had a question on your escrows?" I say, "yes, I changed..." then realize he's hung up on me.

I then called and got Heather who assured me the $1970 is NOT showing as clearing today but from what I've read, the reps do not have their heads up one collective butt, but instead up their own personal ones so who knows what I can expect to hit my account in the next few days.

It's pretty bad when you Google to find their website for payment and get all these RipOffReport and BADBusinessBureau hits instead!

Is there anything we can do as consumers? I thought I was the only one before I found this!

I can only comment on the insurance issue. The correct fax number to send ASC your insurance info is 937-525-4100. If sent to any other number it will not be updated. Also, if you are changing insurance companies they must have a cancellation notice from your current company or signed authorization to accept the new policy. Also, if you want them to pay the new policy you must request this, they will not automatically pay it.
