I called Virgin Mobile today 2/11/14 to top up my Assurance Wireless plan I added 250 minutes and 250 texts which cost me 5.98 with tax. I had to call in order to do this because it wouldn't allow me to do this on the computer. The woman that answered the phone could hardly speak any english informed me that if she applied the new plan onto my phone then when the new month started, which for me was on the 16th then I would loose all of any minutes that I placed on my phone. I asked her why and she stated that with Assurance you can't have 2 plans happening at the same time so when the new one starts they can't add it on to your minutes that are already on there. So therefore anything that I am paying for they just take away. It is the same if you pay for a 5.00 plan and then decide to swith to the 20.00 plan if you have any minutes left over on your talk or your text plan they don't let you keep them they take them away from you and then give you your new minutes. I think that's a ripoff. If you pay for something than it should be yours. They shouldn't be able to take it away from you. I can understand them taking away the free minutes you didn't pay for them but not the minutes you pay for.

I am a single mother no video games, no dinners out, no extra programs on t.v., no electronics... I get foodstamps because I am on disability raising my wonderful son... I get a saflink phone which gives me 300 minutes a month... If I run out of those minutes then I have to pay 5.00 for another 300 minutes.... However when my new month starts over they take away the minutes that I pay for. I'm not asking for anything extra for free I pay for it and I expect to be able to use it until it is done. I don't expect that they will take away what I have paid for because my new month has started....
That is taking money out of my pocket and not fulfilling their service... I'm not living high on the hog, I am in the poverty level so if you have a problem with someone who has worked their whole life and put into the system getting help when they need it then you have isssues... I have never received government help ever in my life... But when i got sick and had to go on disability, I had to go on food stamps.. You try to go from your normal pay to what theay give you for disability and see if you can take care of your family on it.. Don't be so quick to judge someone else by your purse strings..

You are underpriviledged or such??? I have been unemployed since 6/12, in school finishing my post grad degree and just now found a job. I pay for my cell phone service without using a Government sponsored program. If you can afford internet service you can afford a cell phone be it Metro wireless or pay as you go service. Stop playing the victim card!
You got a free phone with FREE service on my tax dollars because I do pay taxes as a property owner. Guess your priorities are quite out of whack!

"Assurance Wireless Virgin Mobile Money Ripoff From The Disabled, Elderly, Underprivileged"
How do you know they only discriminate against the above? Oh, ye, you're Disabled, Elderly and Underprivileged.
Are you also on a fixed income, black, female and handicapped veteran? Might as well make it sound as good as you can.
Your header for your report is just your attempt to gain sympathy for your "cause"...get a life.
