I am at my wits end. I have fought for 4 years with Best Buy to send me my certificates. I have several Case #'s and have spoken to 3 "supervisors" to no avail.

4 years ago I made a large purchase. I bought a $5500 Sony plasma from them in hopes of getting my reward zone certificates. (Which by the way, I PAID FOR back then just to be a member, adding insult to injury.) I have a total of approximately $8000 - $10000 worth of purchases due to me.

So I called years ago, and after I read my reward zone # to them, they asked me if I was "John Smith" I said yes, and they then read off another persons address, with the same name, in my same city. Sounded like a simple mistake.

Long story short, Best Buy said they needed the credit card# I made my purchases on. I no longer had it, so they told me the only way they could help me was if I had EVERY receipt of my purchases. So I went home and searched for hours and found ALL OF them. I called, and sat on the phone for 3 hours, reading off EVERY INDIVIDUAL purchase and the purchase code numbers to the lady on the phone.

I got a case # and.........Nothing. So after spending around 5 to 6 hours on the phone total, at this point, I dropped it.

I give best buy another chance and get a new card with a new number. Make a few purchases and all seems well. When suddenly I check my account, and my account wont let me in. I call Best Buy and WALLAH!!!! The same guy up in Michigan is getting my reward zone certs!!! I call, they say they fixed it and have all of my notes on my previous case from 2004 and will get me ALL of my certs, sending my case to a supervisor, blah blah blah.

So the other day I check my online reward zone account to see if I still exist, and my points were there. I then went to Best Buy, made a purchase, let them scan my card and read me my name back and all looked good. Went home to check my account and.....drum roll..............my account has disappeared. I call, FURIOUS, and they say sorry I don't have an account. No, really? They pull my old account from my old case #, I ask for a supervisor. He wants to know the whole story from the beginning. Mind you, that this is literally about the 10th time I have had to tell this whole story from the beginning. Get ready for this....he wants my credit card # from the purchases I made back in 2004 in order to get me my 2004 certs. EVEN THOUGH he has ALL OF THE RECEIPT AND PURCHASE #'s that I read off for 3 hours, right in front of him. I open and shut credit card accounts left and right to get the card with the better rate, so sorry, I don't have the card from 4 years ago.

So let me bring this to a head.

I tell the supervisor that if this is not resolved TODAY, and if I don't get EVERY SINGLE certificate TODAY, that I will never shop with them again. I was in the market for a Panasonic 65" plasma for $6999.98.

He told me he would work on it and to call back in 10 days. Uh huh. Right. So just to humor myself I did call back. Had to tell the story again.

I. AM. DONE.

I spend between $5,000 and $20,000 per year with them. I am NEVER shopping there again, even if it costs me more money to purchase somewhere else. I am a patient person, but this is it.

So I went to Circuit City and bought a 58" Panasonic, an HD Tivo, a new Sony Receiver, an Omni mount for my plasma a couple of Monster HDMI cables. Grand total around $4700.00. Not bad. They gave me a deal and I will buy from them from now on, even though I PREFER Best Buy because of selection.

SALTING THE WOUND:

Pre ordered GTA4 for XBOX 360 several months ago from Best Buy. Got here 3 days after the release date. I went and bought it the same day from Circuit City A few days later, when my game FINALLY arrived, I made the jaunt over to Best Buy to return it. As I'm leaving (Orange Park, FL store on Blanding), this older woman comes up to me and is wearing a Best Buy smock. I can TELL she's selling something, so I make it VERY evident that my main goal is to leave this store. I continue to walk without making eye contact with here as she follows closely, still talking to me.

What was she selling, you ask?

Woman: "Would you like to upgrade your REWARD ZONE MEMBERSHIP SIR?"

OMFG.......................................
