So I just moved to Massachusetts and I didn't have any furniture besides a crappy old bed that sunk in at the middle. I went to Bob's Discount Furniture to try and get financed for a bed. I was denied. They asked me if I wanted to have my credit run through a different company and I said "No." And I left the store.
Two days later I received a call from Bob's Discount Furniture saying that they ran my credit through there second option and I was approved. First of all, they DID NOT have my permission to run the credit report. But I needed a bed, so I wasn't too mad and went to the store to pick out my new furniture.
My Fiancee' and I picked out a great bed, not expensive, but not cheap. So we set up all the paperwork and they told us it would be delivered on Thursday. YAY! I can't wait.
Wednesday night I received an automated call from Bob's Discount Furniture saying they would be arriving at my house between the hours of 12:59pm - 3:59pm. So at home I'm waiting. It was 4:35pm when my delivery still was not here and I needed to be somewhere at 5:00. I called the company and they said that they were headed to the stop before mine so I figured with travel and unpacking and then travel to my home, it would be an hour or so. The delivery company told me that I could have someone else in the house sign for my bed. So I did so.
I called 2 1/2 hours later and spoke with our roomate and he said "Yup the bed's here!" So we couldn't wait. We went home, ready to hop right into our new bed. Too bad it was leaning on the wall, still in the plastic, and the frame was in the box.
It was 8:55pm and I called the store and asked them, "When you get delivery of a bed, the delivery company is sopossed to set it up, correct?" They told me yes and transferred me to the delivery department. The lady stated that she was very sorry and the delivery people had already left for the day and that she would send them out first thing in the morning. Ok, well then what am I sopossed to sleep on tonite???
So we built the bed and as we took the plastic off the box spring, there was a tear in the bottom. Go figure. I called the next day to Bob's Discount Furniture to ask if I could have 1/2 of a refund of my delivery fee because they only did half the work, seemed fair to me. Well after being transfered from the store, to delivery to customer service, back to delivery to the store, I was a bit upset. A woman said she would speak with her general manager and would call me back within 15 minutes. She never called back.
So Saturday, I went to the store directly. The manager at the store told me there was nothing she could do for me that the money I paid for the delivery was given to the delivery company and it was up to them to refund my money. So the lady at the office desk put me on the phone with delivery.
From there I was trasferred to customer service and back again and I was even more upset by this time. My delivery charge was $39.00, I want $19.50 returned because I did not get the full service I paid for. It only seemed fair to me. The managers of delivery AND customer service completely refused to return that money to me. (And those of you reading this going, what's the fuss over $19.50, well it may not be a lot to you, but thats almost a tank of gas for me. It's the principal of things, you don't go to a burger place, order a burger, pay for the burger, and then only get the bun!!!)
I then explained how when I did set up the bed that I found a tear in the box spring and the lady said that I needed to get an exchange. She reassurred me that nothing would go wrong during my delivery and she said to make sure that I was there for it. The new boxspring was to arrive the following Tuesday.
Well, It's Tuesday, I had another person cover my shift at work (lost more money there) so that I could be here for my delivery when I realized I didn't get a call last night to tell me what time it was to arrive. So I called Bob's Discount Furniture to find out that the box spring was on BACK ORDER and NOONE called to tell me.
I'm fed up, if I didn't need and like this bed so much I would tell them to come pick it up and give me every penny of my money back. But the customer service representative told me to call on Thurday or Friday to set up a new delivery day. Great, another day off of work.
My advice for anyone is DO NOT work with this company, Bob's Discount Furniture. I have a bedroom set on layaway that I am canceling because I don't want anything to do with this company again. Also, even from a different company, beware, this can happen anywhere.
Note: While picking out the furniture, our salesman was also dealing with another customer that had problems with delivery and they also would not refund her money.
Good Luck

Your name is probably Bob Kaulfman. Bob doesn't even own Bob's Dicount Furniture any more. You sold out to a bank. I can not even imagine that you, Kacy, from Nevada would even plug into Bob's Discount Furniture on Ripoff. There is no Bob's DF in Nevada.
My word, Bob, You have sunk to a new lower leval.

Insist that Bob's refund the delivery charge.

You paid for delivery. It is not up to you if they deliver it themselves or if they contract someone else to deliver it. Bob's is still responsible for the delivery.
Insist that Bob's refund the delivery charge and have them go after their subcontractor. Your delivery contract was with Bob's. You paid Bob's, therefore Bob's has to refund your delivery charge.
Also, if you have not already done so, file a report with the FTC and BBB.
Good luck.

I think you just overreacted to some minor things that happens to everyone now and then . Not just you. If you would have just stayed calm, and have treated this company with at least a little respect , you probably would have done better with them. If I were a business and had someone complain to me about every little thing ,expecting the service of a princess (you are not one are you)and having the attitude that the world revolves around me, and everyone else is of a lower standard. I don't think you would be getting even the time of day from me. No matter who you are and who you are dealing with you can not go around complaining about every little thing and expecting people to bow down to you. Bobs was more than fair to you, even though you treated them badly. you got much more from them than you deserved.
