My experience was very similar to this persons. But I did not fall for the scam. The give away for me was no written estimate. 

I went there with my car last week. I asked for an estimate for the front brakes only. Because I knew my back brakes were OK! 

I got an estimate for over $500.00. They said I needed new rotors and the brake lines leaked. I asked them how much drum was left. The guy said he could not measure within 1000s of an inch. The way I was treated and the atmosphere of the Brake Team store was enough for me. Just to many Red flags. there were way to many vehicles dropped off left in the parking lot. Only two or perhaps three people working 12 bays. I waited about two hours for the estimate. They worked way to slow for my taste. With every bay full and at least eight cars in the parking lot. To top it off there was no one waiting in the waiting area but me. Since no one else was waiting, there is no expectation they was going to finish anything this week or this year. I did a search for the parts for replacement. 75.00 for rotors and something between 7.00 to 12.00 for brake lines. And only 27.99 for pads. That is a mere 121.00 for parts. even if you account for the labor. It should not come anywhere near $500.00. Their 88.00 special is just that. A special way to get you in the door. I appear to be a naive appear by nature. I am not. I am just very easy going. I like to treat people with respect and show the courtesy. But courtesy is not to be mistaken for trust. I do not trust them!!
