To TJX customer services. For many years I have used the TJX credit card thru peoples with no problem. My wife loves the the 30 dollars in rewards certifvicates she go t every month. You switched to capital One who issued me a card with a low credit limit as a new user (I had 5000 with peoples). Each month my limit would be used and they wouldnt raise it (Ihave excellent credit). When we got up to the limit they would allow it to go over and then charge a 29 dollar over limit fee.

Well I havnt missed any payments, and they have finally raised the limit over the phone but not on the computer. On the phone with an actual person talking they said I had a $2000 limit, my statement says 1500 and the computer states I have $1000 limit.

Needlesss to say I canceled the card since if they set the limit and they have the ability to not let it go over the limit theyshould be responsible for going over. I have no problem with using another card if I am at my limit. A limit is a limit. I have a huge problem with paying an over limit fee, as they are the ones who didnt raise my limit, but then allowed me to go over the limit without notifying me There system doenst seem to know what limit I have.

But a guarantee if the card is stolen it wouldnt allow additional fees to be charged. As said before my payments are current. I have no problem paying interest if the payments arent made. Mypayments were made. It was a pleasure using your peoples card as my wife loved shopping in your store. Let me know if you change to another credit card company Cliff Fruitandler Card ending in 2683

To Capital one services
Dear Sirs
Never have I been as diaapointed as with you company. I pay my bill on time and have excellent credit. When my peoples tjx credita card was transferred to you you offer a low limit. Then you allow me to go over the limit. i ahve 2 cards meaning i have no way of tracking amoutns spent. I spend in excess of 50,000 a year on my cards and havnt had problems (except when vendors auto bill for things not ordered).

I have cancelled my TJX capital one card as I refuse to pay over limit fees. This is notice in bold large print to notify me if mylimits are reached and do not go over the liimit unless you are increasing the limit. I refuse to pay over limit fees.

My cancelled card is the one ending in 2683. My business card ends in 1669. My zip codes are 33063 or 33067 Clifford Fruithandler

Capital One can prevent from charging over.

AUTHOR: Brandon - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 25, 2002

Capital One can prevent their customer's from charging over their limit for the most part. THIS IS NOT EVERYTIME, but most of the time. They can remove the "fluff" from your account. "Fluff" is the term used to describe the % they allow a customer to charge over their limit before they cut it off. They say they do this to help people who are might be in an emergency situation, instead of the customer having to call and get an increase in credit, the "fluff" will allow them to spend over.

It is also dependent on the merchant and their practice prevalidating funds. If you "pay at the pump" when at a gas station, most stations are only check to see if your card has $1.00 dollar available. As long as you have $1.00 available, then it is "authorized" and you can fill your tank with $30.00 in gas when you in fact you may only have $1.25 available for purchases.

HowTo Avoid Capital One's Over-Limit Fee

AUTHOR: James - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 11, 2002

Don't over charge your card. It's not the card company's responsibility to make sure you don't go over your limit, it's your own. They do have a way to keep people from exceeding their limit...they charge an over limit fee(duh).

Your credit is your own responsibility and if you suspect your limit is less than you're told, don't charge more. It's that simple. (By the way, if I wasn't sure which of the three limits given to me was correct, I would've assed the statement simply because it's the only hard copy of a limit.

He also stated," i ahve 2 cards meaning i have no way of tracking amoutns spent." How do you have no way of knowing this? I have sex cards and I still know when I'm getting close to my climit. I don't go over it. It's my responsibility not to. My credit is at stake. No one else's.

Thank you for listening. Spend wisely.
