CarParts.com Bait and switch  Internet

I placed an order on 1/24/2014 for a Mass Airflow Sensor.  The price was $39.20 and of course, the requisite tax, freight and handling were added.  I received the confirmation and thought i would be a happy customer receiving the part.

Today, 1/28/2014, i received an email notifying me of a backorder.  I thought wow - it was in stock just Friday.  I looked on the website, the part number is still there and is available.  The PRICE JUMPED to $99.00 - so i called and asked if the part was in stock.

I was told it was in stock so i asked if i could have them ship it out.  He asked for my order number and i gave it to him.  He found it.  He could not understand why i got the "out of stock" notice and had to talk it over with his "boss".

The customer service rep was happy to arrange the shipment and he asked for my credit card number.  Huh?  I paid for it on Friday.  So i got suspicious that this was bait and switch.

I asked to confirm that the price was the same as my previous order.  It was not.  i said this is a fraud!  so he went to his boss and "haggled" out a great deal for me.  He could save me $20 and waive the freight fees.

I argued the point that the sale was completed and confirmed.  How is it that they could bait and swich me like that.  He flatly said "i'm not forcing you to buy this from me".

That is where the call ended.  I am now going to call the bank to make sure that my credit card has not been charged.
