Cohen's Fashion Optical Total rip off - Livingsocial "deal" New York New York

I bought a LivingSocial deal to Cohen's for $30 which allegedly gave me a free eye exam and $250 worth of eyeglasses and lens.  Good deal right? Well, as soon as I arrive, I get ushered into an eye exam.  Common industry practice is to choose your frames first and then get measured for them.  After all, you don't go to a shoe store and get your foot sized first before you browse the selection, right? Ok, whatever.

When that's done, I go to the counter and get hit with the cost of the glasses.  For High index lens $400, Anti-reflective coating? $200.  Frames? You have to buy frames that cost at least $200 more (not mentionedi n the LivingSocial offer as a condition).  It all came out to $850 before subtracting the $250.  The same exact pair of glasses and lens would have cost me at most $350 at any other optical store.  This is a deal??? So I tell them I will walk away. 

Fine, they say.  Pay us for the eye exam.  I give them the LivingSocial voucher - and he says "sorry, it's only good if you buy a pair of glasses with us." Again, not on the voucher.  A Livingsocial voucher is not a coupon.  It is a pre-paid voucher for goods/services.  So I should have gotten an eye exam and $250 towards glasses.  Fine, I'll take the eye exam and don't want the glasses.  NOPE. 

I felt slimey all over.  This was the scam all along.  They have horrible ratings online.  I should have known this was the game.  I will be reporting them to the BBB, Attorney General, LivingSocial, and disputing the charge with my credit card company.  DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.
