I went to this store to get new lenses for my glasses. I had to go back 5 times and I had 2 examinations by 2 different doctors and NO one could get my lenses correct. I went to this shop 5 times. The owner finally told me on the 5th time that she could not and would not give me a refund, and that I was litterally S.O.L. So I am out of over $300.00. After this happen I checked www.bbb.org only to find that this company has a history of doing this type of scam to others. I only wish I had checked www.bbb.org first.
This company deserves to be shut down immediately, by the Attorney General.
People work too hard for their money only to be Ripped-Off. It's not fair. and something needs to be done about it..... Now !!!!!!!
Anyone reading this should Avoid Cohen's Fashion Optical in West Palm Beach, Florida at all cost.

Dear Ariel,
I am sorry you have experienced this with your glasses. It is almost what happened to me with Cohen's Fashion Optical in NY three years ago. After having my eyes checked and choosing a frame, I received glasses I could not use. They gave me the wrong prescription. They then checked again and gave me progressives. I could not use them and returned them for an exchange. By this time, the bill has reached over $700. Not only will they not credit me for glasses I cannot use, they want to charge me for new glasses. While adjusting my reading glasses, the tech accepted a personal call on his cell phone and broke the frame. I am told I must now wait 2 weeks to get a new frame because that was the last in stock. I ask for another frame but am told it is impossible. Two weeks later, they still do not have my glasses. I ask for a refund and am told that is impossible. I call my insurance company who gives me the number to their main office. I am told I will receive a complete refund in 30 working days. After six weeks, I still do not have any refund. I call to find that the person who was working on it has quit and the new person can't do anything about it. I told her I would call consumer affairs, and she assured me I would receive the refund. One week later, I call and am told that they do not give refunds. I collected all of my receipts and kept a log of all of my calls. I sued them in small claims court. I was awarded the price of the glasses I did not receive, the money they took from my insurance which they did not return, interest on this sum and the court fees. You should try doing the same thing. This company has a history of taking money and not providing services. You will not be the first person suing them.

NO ONE COULD GET IT RIGHT

so i was wondering how this all turned out for you ?
it seems like - although it is very apparent you are not satisfied - you are placing some blame - where it is not warranted -
What types of issues where you having - that you where unhappy with the glasses - ?
was it your distance rx ? your reading ? or something else ?
1- 1st the rx -
I take it you had a new exam to start off with - ? Was it from the doctor in their store ?
If it was - How many rechecks did you say you had ?
and what did the doctor say - ? did they change the actual power in the rx - or something to do with the lens ?
I AM NOT POSITIVE ABOUT FLORIDA - however i just moved here to MAryland - and it may not be the same - BUT TO MY UNDERSTANDING - IN ALMOST EVERY STATE - it is ILLEGAL TO ACTUALLY EMPLOY THE DOCTOR -
The doctor can not be EMPLOYED directly by the optical shop - due to potential conflicts -
the only state i am aware of maybe California - but in almost every other -
the retail optical can NOT employ the doctor - they must be INDEPENDANTLY contracted - and just lease the space from the retailer -
NOW - legally - almost everywhere - the doctor can OWN his own optical - however it can never be the other way around -
Now i am really interested if this rx came from that inside doctor - or your OWN doctor ?
Where you wearing glasses prior to this pair ?
And how much change did they say took place from your old rx ?
SO as for the rx itself - THIS MUST BE CORRECT - to ensure a happy outcome on the glasses -
AS FOR TEH DOCTOR NOT GETTING THE RX RIGHT >>????
AS I RECALL - YOU ( THE PT ) say 1 or 2 - better or worse - ?
IS THAT CORRECT ? ANd if it is - WOn't some of your SO CALLED BALME be PUT ON YOURSELF ?
2nd ly -
There is only so many times one can remake and remake glasses - NOw i am not saying that they shoudl or shoudl not remake them for you - but - sometimes - peopel will never be happy with there vision - no matter what !!
3rdly - the optical shops do the doctor remakes as a Curtosy to the DOCTORS - not really for you - but if the doctor could not get your rx good - then maybe the doctor shoudl offer to pay for the retailer to remake them -
4th - if it is actual glasses - what have they done ? there are to many varibles here - but if they say - you need a better lens - go into it -
DID they match your old glasses - ? ( lens type that is )
IF THEY DID - and matched everything to the current ones in the frame -
only changing the rx - IT COMES back to the rx being bad - and NOT ALWAYS WAS THE DOCTOR WRONG - but maybe you can not tolerate the change very well - or you are trying to see like you did say 5 years ago when you where younger -
as the eyes AGE - so does the VISION - and there are many times - PTS WILL NEVER SEE AS WELL AS THEY DID SAY in tehre last pr of lenses -
best of luck
would love to hear what happend in the end - and how you got it fixed
