Covenant Transport Worst Trucking ever Chattanooga, Tennessee

Well First of all I would like to say thanks for training me. My trainer and his dispatcher, Frosty, were the only good thing about this whole operation. Let me start from the beginning of orientation. Get there, after a 20 hour bus ride on Grey hound, nothing abnormal about that. The hotel, which is owned my the company is a dump and a half. Old Holiday Inn hotel which wasn't kept up at all. Food, well forget it, it sucks!!! Orientation comes and we, about 100 of us, are hurded into a room and we go over all the information about how "great" the company is, phsicals and so on. On the last day or it we are given our trainers name and some of us got phone numbers, I didn't. I went back to my room and awaited a phone call all day, nothing. The next day we go and have to report back to the orientation building to meet with Jody to find out what is up with the trainers, I do and he askes if i was contacted by my trainer, I tell him no and he tell me that he is inrout to Chat to pick me up. Now let me back up here by saying that on the first day they ask if you are a smoker and I told them I did smoke. Now it is Saturday, their Cafe is closed all weekend and you have to buy your own food at the Waffle House that is accoss the street. Well I sat in my room all day with nothing to do because I was expecting my trianer to call me on the hotel phone in my room. All day I sat there, with no phone call. Around 10:00pm I went to bed. Around 11:30 a knock at my door. The guy is with 3 other people and tell me he is my trainer and tells me to pack my stuff up as he is leaving in 10 minutes and I will be driving. Ya been up since around 6:00 am waiting for a call and then at 11:45 I am supposed to be driving. Well my first ? to him was, do you smoke? He replys, NO and you aren't going to either at all, not even outside my truck! I told him this wasn't going to work and he called dispatch and came back around 1:00 am and told me to unpack and go see Jody on Monday. Monday...go see Jody who asks why I am still there (no communcation at all at Cov), so I explained to him what was going on. He told me to sit tight in my room and he would call me before lunch. So I waited and waited and waited, I called him about 2:30 that afternoon and he was gone for the day. Tuesday...go see Jody again, asks me again why I am still there, I told him he never called me and that he left early yesterday, he laughed and said oh ya i forgot to call you, i have another guy for you and he is leaving today, here is his number. So i go back to the room and call him, no answer, no phone call all day. Wednesday...go and see Jody again, again asks me why I am still there, told him I tried to call the new guy like 10 times and he never called me back, Jody called his dispatcher up and was told he was sick but should be ready to roll today, finally I thought yaaaa I am getting out of here. Go back to my room get packed and tried to call the guy again, no answer all day. Thursday...go and see Jody again who informs that the guy is really sick and won't be able to take me. I told him I am going home and that when he has someone they can come up to my house and pick me up. He agrees and send me home. About 2 weeks later I get a call from Jody saying that my trainer will be in Chat in a 3 days and I should take off and get down there again to meet with my trainer, I asked him if this guy smokes and he said you are all set and to get back down there. Well this time everything worked out with one of if not the best trainer I could ask for, after hearing all the w***e stories about trainer while at the hotel, I most of had one of the execptions, he was great. After training you have to do a test out, normal, however on the backing course I "ALMOST" hit a trailer and the test was stopped. So I had to come back in week to retest, which I did with perfection. So now it is time to get a parter, well this guy I knew from school was testing out at the same I was so we decided to team together. Well, we are both new to this and we got a decent dispatcher, Maryann, she wasn't half bad just bitched at us alot for stupid things, but then she left to go to nights and weekends. So we firgured that anyone it can't get anyworse than being bitched at everyday, well were we wrong. We got Kevin Blizzard, and what a blizzard it was. Trying to get just pay for our work was a nightmare. It was like he was paying out of his own pocket, and I know these guys have a budget to follow, but still if we drove and dropped off a trailer for the company somewhere we cound't get paid for it. We were always getting shafted on every single run we did. I can understand being up to 50 miles off on the milage, but when it is 300 miles off and we want to get paid for it and are told NO because they go Zip to Zip I couldn't understand how or where the 300 miles came from, and this happend on at least 4 of our trips where it was 200 miles more than we got paid for??? I want to see everyone at the "White House" go to work and work for free for the fist 3.5 hours, won't ever happen. I could go on and on forever about Kevin. Well then about 2 weeks before I finally had enough and resigned we got a new dispatcher again, Kevin cound't handle the stress of a team division so he went to a solo board. We got Brian Dodson, we both thought that this would be a very good thing, ya we got rid of Kevin. Mistake....he was even worse than Kevin in everything. We talked to him because he called us on the phone and right out of the dug out he treatend us with our jobs. And then the second time he called us he threatend us agian by saying and I will quote, "You don't want me to take you back to old school, you won't like that at all", all over a hotel bill that we summited after being broke down for 5 days in LA. I guess we were supposed to stay on the streets and be homeless for 5 days, that was the attitude of this guy. Well after that we both resigned and left and found a job at JBH. If you are looking for a place to train you and get out as soon as you can go there, but if you want a carrier in trucking I wouldn't recommend you even think about this company, pay sucks, mileage is there but only when they want you to have it, dispatchers suck big time, all their promisses are all lies, and in general this place is not even worth thinking about working for.
