SINCE WHEN IS THIS A REQUEST WHEN THE CARD HAS ALREADY BEEN APPROVED. Sounds very fishy to me so i will be shredding the card and not sending any more information to them.

Credit One approved a credit card for me.  I received it and tried to activate it

but when i called they informed me that i needed to send them a copy of

my Drivers License and or My State ID plus a copy of a utility bill with

my name on it.  I have never had to supply this information to any credit card

before, so i am not going to do so now, just because it is not the usual thing to

do when you activate a card.

So if we get what you are saying. When you applied for the card you had no issue giving them your SSN, your Address, your Full Name, and most likely other vital personal information such as your work location and income.  Any of which someone could use to steal your identity(or what an identity thief would use to open up a credit card).

Yet when they turn around and ask you to actually prove who you are, then all of the sudden they are trying to run a scam. Yea....something sure is fishy here. But it isn't what they are doing.
