Today I was browsing through all the rip off reports on cricket communications, my former employer. I am not filing a rip off report, I am speaking on the behalf of my recent employer. All the statements that I have just read from all the professional whiners is an example of why I chose to leave cricket. Cricket was a great company to work for. They're very courteous to their employees and they try to be the same with our customers. The problem is that Cricket has an overwhelming amount of idiot-customers that get confused and frustrated so easily that they become impossible to help.

This next section is a little Q&A on Cricket

Question #1 There has been a lot of complaints due to the fees that are charged to pay your bill in a Cricket Store. Let me give you the number one reason why there is a fee: They offer four alternative ways to pay your bill with no charge to you what soever. You can pay traditionally by mail, you can set up your account for auto-pay where your monthly balance will automatically be deducted from your checking account or credit card, or you can pay over the phone or online.
Remember that cricket is in business for sales not to sit around and take bill payments all day because you degenerates can't open up bank accounts to pay in these ways.

Question #2 Why does my bill change every month?
Answer: Because you never pay the amount due when it is due, therefore there is a late payment fee just like with every other company in the world. Plus you don't even bother to read the bill or even attempt to examine it to become a litte more educated on the situation before you come into the store to raise all sorts of hell. Cricket employees are too busy to be baby-sit and hold your hand while they explain your bill to you illiterates. Try dialing 1-800-hooked-on-phonics before dialing 1-800-cricket.

Question #3 "cricket rebates are a scam" are they?
Answer:Let me give you the top reasons in order why you probably have yet to recieve your rebate.
1. You probably havn't paid your bill on time, ever.
2. You probably never even bothered to send in the rebate materials in the first place.(but you will come into the store to lie to us & say you did send it in)
3. You sent it in after the required postmark date, because all you heard was "rebate" and "three months" when the cricket rep was explaining it all to you. ("The rep told me I wait three months then send it in...) BULL. Try reading the back of the rebate form. Or just try reading, period!

Question #4 "why is my phone such a piece of junk?"
Answer: It is a piece of electronic equipment, not meant to withstand repeated dropping, crushing, getting wet, throwing, etc. Your phone will last a long time if you take the minimum amount of care

Question #5 "i'm tired of cricket, all these fees and bad coverage - this is a rip off" is it?
Answer: Bottom line. You need cricket, lets face it, this is probably the only company you can get cellular service from. You morons probably do not have enough credit to buy a pack of bubble gum let alone get into a contract with another wireless provider. All of you talk so much trash on Cricket but the fact of the matter is you have nowhere else to go. You will always come back. Don't get me wrong, there are some credit-worthy cricket customers. Chances are they are buying the phone for their teenage child because of our unlimited minutes. But even at that you still complain. We are providing a service so that your airheaded teenage daughter doesn't come back with a $900 cell phone bill. so please do not complain about fees and charges. Really, Cricket is doing you the favor.

Well thats it for the Q&A part, now on to one last final statement about their customer service at the retail stores. There is a lot of complaining about how are reps are very rude. Well you would be pretty pissed off if you had to deal with people like yourself on a daily basis. I'll just send you off with a couple rules to think about before entering the Cricket retail store so that your visit with your sales rep is the most enjoyable as possible.

1. Please be nice when you enter the store. Do not refer to us as
"yo, hey, you". A simple greeting would be nice. Like "Hello, how
are you doing today". Not "my cricket broke" or "these phones are JUNK". Just because you are low-lifes doesn't mean we have to sink to your crude level of communicating.

2. When we ask you what type of phone you have/want don't say
a "cricket". Cricket is a service provider not a manufacturer. But I know your one-dimensional thinking cannot figure that out.

3. Do not interrupt a sales rep while he is with another low life. One low life to deal with at a time is enough, trust me.

4. If you have problems with your phone please do some basic troubleshooting before you come into the store with it. Nothing pisses off a sales rep more when you come in with a stupid problem. Like for example if your phone will not ring make sure it is turned on or doesn't look like some fat (phat?) mama stepped on it.

5. Please refrain from coming to the store in large groups of morons. If one of you has a problem there is no need to come in the store with 30 of you. Please leave your posse at the bus stop before entering the store.

6. Cricket in no way is responsible for your transportation to the store. we do not refund jitney fees, bus fares, etc....

7. When coming into the store please be respectful. We do not come to your work place and make your life hell. Wait, that's assuming you HAVE jobs...NEVERMIND!!

8. If coming to buy a new phone, please I implore you to bring a valid ID. No school ID's, Jail ID's, work ID's will be accepted.

9. And when you come into the store do not get out of control yelling and screaming. We will be forced to call the police.
Then after you leave you will be made fun of for years to come.

We're sorry you are so mad with Cricket. It's probably because NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU TRY, YOU CANNOT RIP CRICKET OFF. Unlike what some of you are used to, Cricket is not a handout. You seem to confuse Chapter 11 with Section 8 !!!!!!

A 10 YEAR CUSTOMER

AUTHOR: FEDup - ()

POSTED: Monday, October 28, 2013

First off heifer yes I called you a cow, I have been with CricKet for more than 10 years, and customer service by phone sucks. In the stores here in Macon, the service is exceptional and I can't think that one of them ever had to speak like you have spoken about a customer. I have had several problems with CricKet just like I have with previous companies not as bad. ATT charged me $780 for my son's phone, that had several downloads charged, but  had the phone with me at all times he was on punishment. The phone wasn't even on to be used. The charged my father another $520 for internet usage, my dad lives alone and didn't even know how to get to the internet. T-Mobile bills kept going up $20 every other month it seemed, and Sprint coverage was just NOT. Problems I have a had with CricKet is my phone has never been in water rather its rain or anything else, but I took of the back because the phone froze and the battery white tab was red, I hadn't had the phone 5 days, it was replaced with no problem, I'm still trying to figure out the battery tab being red. I have three lines on my account and I always carry insurance, will last year some nice idiot customer service rep on the phone removed it from every device. I have been a customer since 2003 and the problems with CricKet has been minimal. My main issue is if I have a question I have to get in my car and drive 10 miles to ask it, because phone service talk to me like I am stupid and I end up cursing and hanging up If I ever walked into a Service place and got the attitude that some of you employees have I would have a case. I am paying my money no matter how cheap, it is still a service I am paying for and I will not have a low life like you speaking to me any kind of way.

I hope you never have to deal with any service part of this world rather its a restuarant or clothing store. Please never run cross me, even though I am a professional government employee, my ghetto background will show it's ugly head. I hope you sleep well at night and you find a job where you don't have to deal with people.

Unprofessional conduct

AUTHOR: Tim - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 24, 2010

There is probably some validity to what you are saying but I was lied to by three people in the call center about a phone that was on order.  At the time I ordered it, that was never brought to my attention on the website.  I know how other cell phone companies handle new products to make sure that it is very clear when you see the electronic invoice that it is on order.  That doesn't happen with Cricket.  They could have left me an email about it and they didn't.  I've been in the customer service for 25 years and I think a lot of you need some training in solving problems and not telling lies, giving lip service, or hanging up on your customers.  I really wanted to cancel service after the situation but because Crickets return policy is so poor, I decided to keep the phone and see what happens.  As far as peoples credit goes, this is a tough recession for everyone and Cricket doesn't need to take advantage of the situation.  Bad credit can turn to good credit very easily.

I'm living in a rural area right now going back to college and Cricket has had good coverage so far.  When I was with T-Mobile, I was surprised how bad it was in this area.  Especially when they have a major customer service center 20 minutes north of where I live.

I don't think Cricket could screw my bill up any worse than T-Mobile could.  They were always messing it up with the services on our family plan.

Cricket Customer

AUTHOR: Katrina - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 23, 2010

Thank you for post.  It seriously made my day.  While I do not work for Cricket, I do work in retail.  I don't deal with customers and broken phones, but I do work with customers and broken glasses or missing contacts.  I have some similar stories.
With that being said, I have been a Cricket customer for almost a year.  At the time I decided to go with Cricket I liked the fact that there wasn't a contract and the service was a good deal for what I was looking for.  I haven't had a problem with my phone or my service since getting my phone.  Granted, i am usually a pretty low maintenance type of customer but the one time I have had a question, they were extremely helpful in answering my question.  I have been extremely pleased with their service and their phones.  I have paid on time every month, and I have it directly taken out of my checking account every month so I don't have the 3.00 fee.

I am a little confused as to why people are so upset about paying a fee.  Most of my bills have a fee if I pay online or by phone.  The only free way with them is to send a payment by mail or to have it done with autopay.  Most places have free options so you dont have to pay the fee, but I think it is becoming the norm to have a fee to pay your bill.

THERE WAS NO LINE WHEN I GOT MY CRICKET SERVICE... YOU HAVE TO GO EARLY ON A WEEKDAY

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 15, 2010

THE PEOPLE WERE VERY COURTEOUS  AND EFFICIENT TO ME AT THE CRICKET STORE.

IN FACT, I AM POSTING THIS REBUTTAL TO A REALLY STRANGE PERSON RIGHT NOW USING MY CRICKET BROADBAND CONNECTION AND ENJOYING THE REMARKABLY FAST AND FLAWLESS INTERNET SERVICE. I HAVE AN EIGHT-YEAR OLD LAPTOP OR MY INTERNET SPEED TIMES WOULD BE EVEN FASTER.

IT TAKES ME LONGER TO CATCH THE BUS THAN IT DOES TO DO ANYTHING ELSE, ACTUALLY BECAUSE I AM OUT AND ABOUT ON MONDAY MORNINGS, TRY TO GET EVERYTHING DONE BY NOON AND AM AT HOME THE REST OF THE WEEK. WHY GET OUT AND MAKE MYSELF A TARGET...

TO SUGGEST THAT OLDER PEOPLE ARE TECHNOLOGICALLY ILLITERATE OR CANNOT APPRECIATE OR UNDERSTAND COMPUTERS AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION IS THE WORST SORT OF AGEISM AND IGNORANCE.

THIS IS A VERY DIVERSE WORLD WITH A LOT OF DIFFERENT KINDS OF PEOPLE AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES THE POWER OF THE INTERNET SO GREAT... I HAVE MET LOTS OF COOL PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WITH VERY SMALL MINDS IN VERY SMALL PLACES WHO HAVEN'T YET BEEN AFFECTED BY BETTER COMMUNICATIONS.

IT TAKES A LOT OF PLANNING AND BUDGETING, BUT I AM FOR REAL.

I AM NOT AN IDIOT --CRICKET WORKS FOR ME

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 14, 2010

I AM AN OLDER PERSON WHO LIKES TO PAY WITH CASH AND I LIKE TO GO TO MY CRICKET STORE AND PAY IN PERSON SO THAT I HAVE A RECEIPT THAT I PAID AND I PAY ON TIME THE $3 SERVICE3 CHARGE IS BECAUSE OF THE NEW INTERNET SERVICES PROVIDERS TAX THAT THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION ADDED. CRICKET HAS TO PASS
IT ON TO THE CUSTOMERS BECAUSE THAT IS JUST WHAT A BUSINESS HAS TO DO TO STAY IN BUSINESS.

I BOUGHT UNLIMITED INTERNET SERVICE FOR $40 A MONTH AND I GOT THE WIRELESS MODEM. I HAD TROUBLE GETTING IT TO WORK BUT I CALLED THE 1-8700 NUMBER AND I TALKED TO A LADY FROM INDIA WITH THE GREAT ACCENT.... I COULD HAVE LISTENED TO HER ALL DAY...ANYWAY, I DID WHAT SHE TOLD ME TO DO AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY, DID NOT EVEN HAVE TO WAIT THE 24 HOURS. SO I FIGURE TO GET EXCELLENT SERVICE LIKE THAT AND NOT HAVE TO USE THE WIRELESS IN THE INTERNET CAFES AND COFFEE HOUSES WITH THE SNOTTY YUPPIES AND THE HOMELESS AND THE DRUNKS AND THE DOPERS AND NIGERIAN LETTER WRITERS IS WORTH A LOT MORE THAN $3 TO ME. I ALSO DO NOT FEEL SAFE GOING OUT AT NIGHT THESE DAYS. I PAY MY BILLS IN THE DAY TIME AND ENJOY THE BUS.

I WISH I COULD AFFORD THE PHONES THAT CRICKET HAS BUT THE SCREENS ARE TOO SMALL AND DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SEE AND THE KEYBOARD IS TOO TINY EVEN FOR MY FINGERNAILS. THAT IS THE ONLY GRIPE I HAVE.

THE PEOPLE AT THE CRICKET STORE WERE BASICALLY VERY NICE TO ME. I GET A RETIREMENT CHECK AND WILL BE ABLE TO PAY EVERY MONTH MY BILL OF $43. IT IS BETTER THAN THE  $100 A MONTH TIME-WARNER WANTED AND ATT AND SPRINT WANTED $90 A MONTH. I DO NOT WANT TO GET ARRESTED FOR HACKING INTO OTHER PEOPLE'S ENCRYPTED WIRELESS ROUTERS SO I GET TO BE AT HOME SAFE AND COMFORTABLE AND HAPPY. THE IDIOTS AT CLEAR WIRELESS WANTED ME TO PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD AND NOTHING ELSE. THE HELL WITH THAT!

I WISH I COULD WRITE AND TELL CRICKET HOW THIS ONE SENIOR CITIZEN APPRECIATES THE SERVICE.

ALSO, YOU DON'T KNOW WHO IS GOING TO ACCESS WHATEVER IT IS YOU PUT ONLINE. AND I DON'T BELIEVE IN BANKS OR CREDIT CARDS.

CASH IS STILL KING.

CASH MAKES THINGS HAPPEN.

AN D THAT IS WHY CRICKET GETS MY BUSINESS.

#23 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Defender of the corporate swindlers

AUTHOR: miketkong - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, August 19, 2010

I am, or was, a Cricket customer and have been looking for an honest phone company for the last year. All I have to say is that the advertisements and marketing language are misleading at best, straight up deceptive and exploitive at worst (which I believe to be the case). If you, as an employee, are having so much difficulty with customers it's probably because the system, rules, terms, and protocols that you are serving are flawed.

Corporate knows that people as a whole aren't going to read through pages of confusing legal terms. They know that people as a whole aren't sophisticated and they know that people as a whole need cell phone service. So what they do is they offer something that looks like something else and try to make money on people with "hidden" fees. I put "hidden" in quotes because even though they may be stated, which many of them are not, they are buried in pages of legal text.

These companies are developed by sophisticated people that could make systems that make your job easier by accounting and building in features that serve you and the customer--and what I think it all really comes down to is really serving the customer.

You can tell what kind of company you work for and the quality and integrity of the company by the attitudes of its employees and judging by your attitude towards your customers, you were working for a sub-par company with it's own interests in mind--not yours as an employee and not mine as a customer.

I know you're frustrated and I understand that there are a lot of people that have a lot to learn when it comes to understanding contracts and treating customer service reps courteously and respectfully, but your assessment of the fault being solely that of the customer is nearsighted and misdirected.

I was under the impression that the service I bought was on a month to month basis and that it was a prepaid structure. Before purchasing the service, I asked the rep repeatedly whether I would be subjected to late fees or other fees of any kind apart from the initial activation fee and monthly service, so I was surprised to find that I would be charged a late fee and an activation fee after not paying on time(?). I didn't even know I needed to pay anything on time since it was a prepaid phone (I thought).

I consider myself to be someone that has experience and knowledge enough to see things for what they are when it comes to contracts and service features, but I was wrong and I do not believe that I was at fault. I do believe that I was mislead and that this is something that is intentional and common practice in the industry.

So until you get your head out of the trenches and work your way up to the higher corporate levels where these policies and protocols are being made, where the profits for integrating these misleading and gouging practices are being considered and lusted after, try holding your tongue from hurling insults at the simple man.

Not Always True!!!!!

AUTHOR: Teresa - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 04, 2010

Hello everyone,

I am just a regular Joe.I have a regular job and I
regurally take baths lol.Anyway, here's the skinny. To the person that
wrote this.If it was;nt for US poor people that drive rusty cars and
have lower paying jobs, you would;nt have a job at all.We PAY your
salary.Maybe instead of complaining about your job, maybe actually help
the people that do come in to your store.Remember,America was built on
th low end people, not the Rothschild's lol.And as far as cricket being
a
ripoff, you better believe it is.They have 100's of cases in court now
for the same reasons I'm going to tell you why it's a scam. The reason
that low end people get cricket is because Cricket makes it so enticing
that lower income people are attracted to it.But after you become a
cricket owner. That is when the problems appear. The corporate office
will never tell you the truth, but here it is.I know one of the network
admins at the cricket corporate office. He has told me and has verified
his statements with emails from the inner office.WHat happens is
basically this. After 10 days of getting greatttt service, all of a
sudden, your phone wont reach out well, and your internet modem goes to
dial up.The person inside the corporate office showed me reports as
where they actually have a timer on new accounts to lower their
receiving abilities after the 10 days.I never would have believed this
without confirmation, but trust me,its TRUE.As far as their customer
service dept.Well like most they hire out of country reps to handle the
phone calls.Sad but true.Basically Cricket was set up as a company to
draw in the low crowd. Its kinda like a run down used car lot compared
to a new car/used car lots. They know the lower end people need phones
and modems.ANd they also know by keeping the price low, this will intice
them. Its kinda the theory of grab them, shake the money out of them, drop
heir service. Also on techie.com you will find 1000's of others that
have confirmed everything I've stated above. So if your looking to get a
new phone or modem, please pay the extra $20.Me personally ,I have ended
my contract with cricket and gone back to verizon. If i had not done
this, more than likely I would have lost my mind.Because it was taking
30 minutes just to Download their update ,which was only 15mb Lol...now
you can imagine why all their customers come in ranting. If you had only
3 hairs left after sitting in front of a hourglass screen, you would be
ranting to,not counting the number of dropped, lost,or no service calls
from their phones. Can you imagine paying for a 70Kbs line and getting
between 4-7kbs.Doesn't seem right huh.It isn't,but their betting you
stay with them because their cheap. If you want to test this theory,be
my guest.Buy cricket modem and phone, wait the 10 days .You will see.I'm
amazed they are still open for business.I believe the reason why is
because THE TRUTH IS NOW COMING out of everyone involved and I'm sure
soon they will have to change their ways if they want to stay in
business.Enjoy your other services verizon,att,sprint.etc....

we cricket employees are only human too

AUTHOR: M - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 30, 2004

Deborah, I can understand the fact that you are afraid to go to Cricket due to the things that have been posted on this website. But you must realize, we cricket employees are only human too. We get treated with respect, you get treated with respect. As I stated previously, when we get a good customer, they are recognized as well. I know if a customer needs something that is legit and I have to go higher up to get it done for them, I make sure to let it be known if they were nice or not. Like I also said, I was rasied knowing that if I wanted something, I ask nicely....thats it. Alot of these people come in demanding things unheard of. Cricket truly is a great company to work for, and if I didnt work here, I would surely keep my Cricket phone. Ive been there, done that, with verizon....all the cell companies are the same, except for the fact I can glue the phone to my ear and not have to worry about it a single penny. I think the original poster (man, i wish i knew who that was!!!) was just trying to prove a point...and in my book, I couldnt have said it any better myself!!!

Potential customer's perspective

AUTHOR: Deborah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 28, 2004

I have just been reading this thread. The employees posting here are not doing the company any favors. I am contemplating Cricket as a wireless provider and if I have to deal with this kind of attitude I can assure you, I'd prefer to stay with Verizon. You see, I am able to get service somewhere else. Perhaps you have customers that are not able, but not all of your customers are a captive audience. I'd suggest that you keep that in mind.

As for the customers, my gas company charges me to pay my bill in the most convenient way (by phone), my electric company also. This is the way things are these days. Learn to deal with it, or make arrangements to pay the free way, there always is one available. As for me, I will gladly up the extra $3 in order to be sure that I don't end up with another $600 surprise, because my local calling area didn't cover the particular rural area within the state. I hate surprises. Cricket seems to give good value for the money.

Wow.........

AUTHOR: Pat - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 20, 2004

Wow, if the tone of the employee posts here are any indication of the quality of service to expect from a Cricket employee (be it Sales Rep, CS Rep, or whatever), all I can say is I'm glad that I have T-Mobile.

Sure, sometimes the coverage sucks, but I dare anyone to find a service that doesn't have it's share of problems.

I have worked in all areas involving customer service, including retail and fast food, and I must say that even though I've had to deal with my share of obnoxious people, I found that if I treated everyone with the same amount of respect that I wish to receive, most of them were not that bad after all. Kill them with kindness, I say.

Maybe some (notice I did not say all) of you Cricket employees need a refresher course in customer service. I know that if I walked into a retail store when I had a problem, and the rep had an attitude right off the bat because I drove up in a "rust-covered" car (what is that all about, anyway), I would also have a bad attitude. Common courtesy goes a long way. To quote Martin Lawrence, "Can't we all just get along?"

My 2 cents.

#18 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Since it was brought up....

AUTHOR: Kirstin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 20, 2004

James mentions the customer that got upset over the phone being damaged and there being no insurance on it. Well, I use to work for the insurance company. I feel the pain of the Cricket employees. I cannot tell you haw many people called in daily withouht insurance on the account and demand I replace the phone. Um, no.

My favorite pert of that is when they told me they were the customer so they were right. When you declined to pay for the insurance, you decided to not be the customer of the insurance company.

I usually felt bad for the reps in the store. I could always hang up on someone when they started yelling at me or swearing. The reps had to stand there. But, it was quite entertaining opening someone's account and reading the comments... "Customer is abusive and will yell to try to get what he wants. "Customer is not allowed at the full service store."

Despite the recording at the start of the call that tells people about the deductable, people would yell and scream that they were never told about it. See, it goes back to that reading thing you have to do. (BTW, every phone replacement plan has a deductable.)

The recording states if the phone is stolen you need a police report. I can't tell you how many times I heard "Well, I didn't think that was serious."

Of course, there were the customers I liked helping. These were the ones that had all the info they needed, didn't start yelling at me and demanding free phone because they the phone in the microwave (yes, this happened several times.), or they didn't start threatening to come find me after I denied a claim because they threw the phone against a wall while fighting with someone.

Same Problem Every City

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 18, 2004

First off i would love to thank all of the customer's who have responded to these previous messages as rebuttals. As a cricket employee you are the people that come in and make our days fun and enjoyable. We appreciate your courtesy and your attitudes when dealing with a billing problem or service questions.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way, the first person that i would like to respond to is Gayle. Gayle I moved here from Spokane, WA where i worked for Sprint PCS for 1 and a half years before moving here. While i was working there i took many payments and just like cricket there is a $5 payment fee for paying your bill in the store... and just like cricket if you pay your bill over the phone or online or through the mail you will not be charged this fee. I am sorry if this is a shock to you... maybe you never paid your bill at the sprint store, but if you doubt me you can go into Northtown Mall or the valley location off of Sullivan and ask.

To the other cricket and former cricket employess... I FEEL YOUR PAIN. However, it is sad to see that no matter what city your in, you have to deal with the same type of people.

I HAVE had phones thrown at me (and no Gayle it is not because i have poor customer service.) It is usually due to people like yourself or maybe your boyfriend who come into the store and throw a fit due to not puting insurance on your cell phones. My most recent experience with phone tossers was due to the fact that the customer in question decided not to pay his bill for two months and it was disconnected. The customer got mad because i told him that he needed to pay off his balance. Does anyone know which service provider is going to give 2 months of free service? I am serious about this question because that would be the perfect service provider for Gayle and her kind. Cause if they give you free service for 2 month then they probably won't charge you to pay your bill.

I'm sorry Gayle if this upsets you or any other cricket customer out there but here goes... Cricket employees do have a favorite customer. It is the customer that they do not know by name. I am serious on this, because if we don't know you by name then you havn't been in the store a thousand times bitchin' and whinin' about a $5 fee to pay your bill. I hate to be the one to break this to you Gayle but you are a marked customer. Cricket Employees see you coming and then go into the back of the store and draw straws to see who of them has to go and deal with you, a known whiner and bitcher. If any customer feels that they are getting mistreated by the service representative who is helping them maybe you should think back to all the times you came into a store complaining without even pausing to see what the representative could do for you.
Thank you for taking the time to read my response. I appreciate a site like this that offers everyone a chance to write an opinion. And if you agree with mine then thank you and if you don't then maybe you should reevaluate your attitude before walking into a Cricket Store or any other location where you are talking to a human being.

I too work for Cricket in Pittsburgh, PA. First of all, I have worked in customer service for 8 years, and considering I'm only 23, Id like to think I have some "customer knowledge" under my belt. One day, I am going to list all the s**t I go through in ONE days time. Second, I'd like to say that John is correct...we see nothing but the same shitty, rusty a*s cars, and the same welfare people every day. Just a small idea of what we go through-----> Customer comes in, I'm finishing up on my last customers account, and a guy walks up to my counter, throws his phone down, and says, "IM GOING TO THROW THIS F*****G PHONE AT YOU, IT DOESNT WORK ANYMORE AND I AM NOT PAYING FOR ANOTHER ONE." Meanwhile, I pick up the thrown phone, and look to see if theres water damage under the battery.....THERE WAS NO BATTERY. I know technology is complex, but come on people, a cell phone needs a battery to work!!!!!!!!! Now why in the hell did he have to walk through the door screaming, about absolutely NOTHING. I think most of these people need to get off the phone and go take some ettiquette classes. We are human too. You dont know how exciting it is to have a nice customer. When that nice customer leaves, its like "wow, he/she was really nice, why cant they all be like that." I think your parents failed to teach you the good old saying "treat others how you wish to be treated." My mother raised me with respect, and I have respect for those who have it for me. She also taught me that if I wanted something, to be nice and I shall receive. Not go into some store acting like a crazed maniac all cracked out.

In conclusion, Id like to thank all the great customers that we do have. Most employee rebuttals on here are nothing but s**t talking towards our customers....which its all true. But the good ones get overlooked....so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. And as for the rest of you...good luck finding another cell carrier that will give you what cricket does. I have had them all, ending with cricket when they first came out, before I even worked there.

Its by far the best ive had. I dont "roam" 5 minutes from my house, I dont get $400.00 cell phone bills anymore, and I talk all I want. Yes, calls are dropped occasionally...but they were with Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T too. Its a cell phone, it doesnt have a cord attached to it. It runs on a tower....it gets crowded....and calls may drop. s**t HAPPENS, CALL THEM BACK!

That's correct. ALOT of places charge a fee to pay certain ways. Gayle, check Cricket Terms & Conditions! When you activated your phone, you agreed to the terms and conditions. So you just run to your attorney and try to sue Cricket. Thats probably the only way you can make a buck. And the only reason why you're so pissed about the $3 fee because your too lazy and too busy cashing those welfare checks to go out and get a job! I wish you would disconnect your phone, thats just one less dumbass I'd have to talk to!

do you have a law degree?

AUTHOR: Cricket - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 05, 2004

Gayle, just wondering if you have a law degree of some sort. You seem to be very educated on this law of being charged to pay a bill. I don't have a law degree either but I do know that it isn't a crime to charge to pay your bill. Especially if the company provides free options to pay. There are tons of major companies that do charge for a bill payment. Like I said, if you do not agree with the in store payment fee pay online, over the phone, or just send in the payment through the mail. Or simply maybe cricket is not for you, get another service provider. And like you said you like cricket for your local service. We probably save you money, so stop complaining about a $3 fee and look at the whole picture. You are the exact reason why I left the company, you are the idiot i'm talking about. Gayle everytime you respond you just keep proving my case. Thank you.

I have recently read the messages posted to this site. I would just like to remind all of those who bad mouth cricket, there are other cell service providers. So, rather than complain, go somewhere else!!!

We hope you complainers do!! There are a majority of cricket customers who are currently on service with us, pay on time and dont complain(we never see them). I think the reason for this is that they have jobs and dont talk on the phone all day. I see the same broke and undereducated people in our store everyday.

These people drive the same car. It is old, rusted, and has hubcaps missing on it. These people will be in bad shape when we run credit checks like every other companies do. The main reason for there complaints is that they dont research the service provider coverage (ya read something first). Also no cell coverage is perfect. Cell phones were just provided to public in the early 80's. Give 10 years or so, then complain about coverage.

So in closing, I do thank those customers who are respectful and would qualify as a good customer. For the rest of you go buy your own towers ($1,000,000 ea.) if our service is so bad!! We are tired of your crap and we dont need you any more. We have over 1.5 million customers now!

Charged for payment

AUTHOR: Gayle - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 04, 2004

Again, I say that a person should not be charge for making a payment on any bill, regardless of the method of payment....it's just stupid!!

If you do get charged for paying a bil, and it's not late, then you should contact your state's attorney general and file a complaint...I did, and they are going to do something about this crap!!

And, I never signed a 2 year contract with Sprint, and I had unlimited long distance, and it was only $39.00 a month plus taxes...and my credit is good....I chose Cricket because of the unlimited local service...that is the best deal I have found on local service, but long distance sucks!!

Agreeing with former employee

AUTHOR: Kim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 03, 2004

After reading the wonderful expose from the former employee of Cricket, and seeing the latest reply from Gayle, its clear as to why this former employee feels this way. You do NOT have to pay an extra fee to pay your bill over the phone. Most other companies you do. If I try to pay my car payment over the phone, they want to charge me 15.00. Now thats crazy, not pocket change like 3.00. But thats beside the point. Gayle is unhappy with Cricket, so she finds the need to come on here and reply to a former employee with big words such as 'shameful'. I see what this man from PA is saying. You hope that he doesnt make more than minimum wage for the rest of his life? Why? Because you're jealous and dont want him to make more than you? If you had any brain at all, you would know that by saying that, you show your lack of maturity, GROW UP! I have stood in the store watching all these idiots treat the employees like s**t, meanwhile they are the ones who are the epitome of mankind. Think about it. If someone came in to where you worked, and started screaming in your face, how long could you keep your cool? I have had my service with them for over 3 years, and have never had a problem. As far as you, Gayle, thinking Cricket is too expensive? Maybe if you paid your bill, and actually paid it on time, you might not feel that way. Good luck trying to get a phone at another carrier, and paying less than Cricket.

Cricket

AUTHOR: B - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 03, 2004

You think Criket is a rip off because the payment centers charge $3 to pay your bill. I don't know if you are aware, but alot of places charge a fee to pay your bill. I have a car payment that if you pay online, they charge you a whole $7 processing fee. So Crickets $3 fee isn't that bad. Plus Cricket gives you several options to pay your bill free of charge. By mail, over the phone thru the automated system, or by website (www.mycricket.com), those are all there for you free of charge to pay your bill.

Also, if you call in to a rep, and be nice to them, more than likely they will waive the $5 fee to pay thru them. I know i do. Cricket has a plan with UNLIMITED long distance for $54.99 plus tax, which isnt a bad price. But you can't expect the same thing from cricket as you would from other carriers that require you to sign a 2 YR CONTRACT. Plus Cricket has no deposits and no credit checks.

Alot of people talk bad about Cricket, but then again, I hear so many people talk bad about other cell companies. Every company has those customers that talk bad about them, because the company makes them pay their bills.

This is just shameful....getting charged $3.00 just to pay your bill...and just try to pay it over the phone...another charge for that.

Shame on the former employee from PA....that guy thinks, and thought very little of the customers that he was suppose to be helping in the store where he worked!!

Cricket is a rip off....to be charged $3.00 a month to pay you bill, or be charge 55 cents every month just to get a paper bill in the mail...that is just shameful.

I'm giving up my Cricket phone at the end of this payment period...I can no longer pay the high price they charge, and I get NO long distance, or coverage even 50 miles from home!!

To the employee who called the customers "idiots"..shame on you and I hope you never get a job that pays more than minimum wage!! Then you can be stuck with a Cricket phone and find out what it's really like to be a customer of theirs!!
