I ordered a necklace of off www.shopdani.com a few days ago for $9. I did understand at the time I purchased it that I was joining a membership club and that they would be sending me another piece of jewelry every month unless I cancelled my membership. I read the fine print to make sure there was no minimum to buy and was planning on simply cancelling my membership after I recieved the first necklace.

Last night I was checking my bank statement online and noticed that not only was I charged the $9 for the necklace but there was an additional charge for $68. I called the company first thing this morning and was told that the $68 was a membership fee and that if I returned the second piece of jewelry that had apparently already been shipped, they would issue me a refund.

I just went back to the website to read any fine print I may have missed where I agreed to this membership charge and there is none. Nowhere on the website does it mention a membership fee. Of course only then did I do a search for this company and find many many other people who had the same problem. From what I have read i do not expect to recieve any such refund from this company so I will be calling my bank first thing in the morning. Guess we will see what happens...
