I'm another victim of the DazzleWhite scan reporting in!  I authorized a charge of $1.95 against my JPMorgan Chase debit card.  A month later, I saw that DazzleWhite had made two additional charges against my account for about $58.76, totaling more than $117.

I immediately cancelled this MasterCard debit card and reported these two charges as fraudulent to the bank WaMu/Chase, giving them all the particulars.  They issued a temporary credit to my account for $117.52 for my claims.  Incidentally, another company, apparently part of DazzleWhite also charged my account for $3.50 for some net service.

Today, about two weeks after I reported this fraud, I received a letter from WaMu/Chase denying my claim and indicating that the charges will stand!  "You have not presented sufficient evidence to support your claim against this merchant," WaMu wrote.

I immediately wrote a letter to James Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, indicating I will close my accounts and my childrens' accounts and I will take Chase to small claims court.

So if you're feeling confident that your bank, especially Chase, is going to protect you from the scam artists, think again!  They could care less.

I have also reported DazzleWhite to the attorney general of Idaho, where one of their mailings was made from, and the Internet Crime Bureau.  I have also reported them to the USPS fraud unit. This operation is quite sophisticated, as scammers go, and seem to have many addresses, but no "real" address and no registration with a state's corporation's office.  I would think that a few years in prison would be a good antidote for the owners.
