I can't believe how dishonest this company is. Yesterday I called in to try and reduce my tv bill to the bare minimum, as I am currently unemployed. When I was on the phone with a direct tv customer service rep I learned for the first time that they had me down for their NFL Sunday Ticket promotion since October of 2010. Now this was news to me, I never subscribed to this,I am not a football fan!!  I never watched even one game and like I said before I am not a football fan. Even if they gave me the NFL Sunday ticket for free,I wouldn't watch it, as I have absolutley no interest.

Direct tv insists that I PAY FOR THIS! When a direct tv sales person called me with a solicitation to take advantage of their promotion to get some premium stations like HBO and Showtime for only an additional $6 per month I accepted that offer. I declined the NFL offer. Somewhere along the line someone from direct tv lied and mis represented this promotion. I would never agree to their NFL Deal. I tried explaining this to customer service that I am being overcharged $30 dollars a month for 5 months (they want me to pay for this thru till March when there isn't even any football)so I am paying $150 for something that I never wanted, needed or asked for.

Customer service apologizes but does NOTHING they offered me $10 for the $150 that they ripped me off for. Obviously I did not like the deal and told them that I want to cancel they said ok go ahead, but then they would charge me $240 cancellation fee. I said that I wouldn't pay it,then they said that they would just take it out of my bank account.
I have been a valued customer for almost 4 years, but when I upgraded to HD TV 1 year ago that started a new two year contract. So, apparentley they think that they have me by the short and curly's and that I have no recourse but to accept their blatant thievery

WATCH OUT FOR THESE GUYS! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!

Me Too

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 07, 2011

About 4 months ago I called to lower my direct tv monthly bill. After hanging up I expected it to go from $60 to around $30 per month by dropping some channels. Right about that time, we had a lightning strike, so they sent me a new box, so there were some additional charges. Get the bill the following month and it goes to $79. I'm royally pissed. They not only increased my channels but added showtime. I call them back and get some b**ch who wants to argue. F**k that. I tell her to cancel me. They transfer me over to some very nice women. Now I'm sure this is in their "playbook". After speaking with her, she lowers my bill back to WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN, But, refunds me what they overcharged me AND credits me $180. We're gonna use the credit and then maybe drop them.
