I was trying to get away from cable because the cost was going up quite a bit.  I heard that Direct TV was great and that might be the best way to keep my rate down.  When I called, the sales people would not let me get off the phone.  I should have just hung up but I didn't.  I told them that I didn't care about how good the channels were on Direct TV.  I just cared about keeping my rate down.  I told them over and over that I just didn't see the savings because I had to go with AT&T for Internet and Phone and that rate was very high.   They specifically told me that I could cancel my service at anytime, if I didn't like it.

When the Tech came out, they told me that he was afraid of going on the roof so he would put the dish in my back yard.  I thought they would have put the cords in the ground but that didn't happen.  When I called them back about that, they told me that was going to be $1/ foot to get that done.

Then just two days ago my service went out and I asked them to come out here and fix it.  That is when I found out that was going to cost 50 bucks.  I just said forget this and told them that I wanted to cancel my service and go back with cable.  They told me that I had signed a 2 year agreement.  I was completely shocked.  They never verbally told me this.  They told me that they sent me emails about this and due to the fact that they have sent me over 50 emails, I never knew about this.  Yes, I should have know to read every email but I was told that I could cancel anytime.

When I complained about this over and over, no resolution was made and they have stood by the fact that I signed a work order stating that I signed up for a two year agreement.  I am telling everyone that I know about the unethical business practices and I am about to put a sign in my fromt yard.
