Sometime ago, my id was stolen from my purse, in which it was reported as a theft to the police dept. Some mos. later I received a bill from Direct TV stating I owe close to $400.oo and they were demanding paymennt.

Right away, I contacted them and they transferred me to several dept. and finally some dept. in which the said the would do an investigation...in the meantime they wanted copies of my bills (insurance,light,gas&water bill, telephone-anything with a phys.address during the occurence time), they asked for the police report and some more stuff.

I mail them everthing they requested, the received my mailings and contiue to redundantly ask for the same material a period of 4 or 5 times, I was exhausted by the repeat mail-in and I really couldn't figure out the purpose. I explain to them my personal information including my social,dv.license and more was stolen...and up pops a bill for some service I never ordered or received at my address.

I asked them to track the service guys, that's when they told me they had no idea because they subcontracted, and asked me to mail in a request for the investigation...I did it all....

Let,s just make a long story short- They have contacted a lawyer to receive a payment from me incurred by someone else. I simply refused to pay something I had no affiliations with! I am really distrubed about this all...I wish I had a lawyer or some great leagal advice. I wish Direct TV could even pay for all of my mental pain and suffering, all those request for me to repeat mail offs scanning thru every drawer in my house to find papers...deleting valuable family time, and adding more stress to my blood pressure problems,as is....

I wish someone could help me with this one....I feel all those guys want is their money and they don't care who they get it from...even if that means the Victim, Myself ofcourse...

Has anyone ever had PPV charges for movies you didn't order? Someone, I don't know how... Called in on the phone( Direct TV says it was MY PHONE number that used to call in the orders) to Direct TV everyday for 2 months and placed orders for PPV Porn running up charges of over $1000.00. We didn't do it!!!!!! Anyway, after several attempts to contact them all the way to the Office of the President, we were told that we were liars and that there was no way that someone else could have done this and we were responsible for the bill.




Since then, credit agencies have attempt collections and we refuse to pay it. They have been so unreasonable and flat out calling us liars. They say that someone living here had to have called in these PORN movie orders... I didn't do it, my husband didn't do it, nor did my 2 young children!!!! Some orders were placed at 5AM when no one some even awake or home. Some were supposedly downloaded to our living receiver... now why would we download porn movies to a living receiver where our children would see them????? So my credit is destroyed because of this. Can anyone explain how this could happen...could it have been a cruel joke and how did they do it?

Direct TV says that their System is foolproof and un-hackable. How did this Happen? Why is Direct TV so unreasonable about these charges? They won't remove them.

I think their sub-contract excuse is quite lame.

They had to provided some sort of work order to give to the sub in order for him to do an installation. They would have had to 1099 the sub for the payment provided to them.
I'm sure the sub has a record of the name and address where the actual install was performed.

You can file a complaint on-line. Tell them what is going on, attach any documentation that you have with your complaint. They will be all over Direct TV in a flash.
