On March 6th of 2012 out of the blue my internet and phone ( Cox Communications ) stopped working. The tech was at my home with in two hours. Please note i am not, never have been, and never will be a customer of Direct TV.
My tech asked me do you have Direct TV? I stated no, why? He said well it seems that Direct TV is outside installing a dish for one of your neighbors ( a condo ). So im basically like why are you telling me this. He said it seems that this guy is a bit too lazy to check what wire goes where and has cut my wires. So at this point i am a little upset, but happy to have the issue resolved.
After about an hour has passed it dawned on me that Cox Communications will now be sending me a bill for this. So i immediately called Direct TV. I explained everything to the respresentive and she basically told me there is nothing she can do. Now i dont know about them, but just about any company can find out something by giving an address. All they had to do is take my address run a check to see the work order to get to the bottom of it.
So after about 40 minutes and talking with three different people i lost my cool and said okay you cant help me then you need to transfer me to someone who can. So i get this woman who is basically telling me the same BS. I tell her there is something that can be done im sure, if the issue is not resolved i would be more then happy to see you in court. So she tells me give her a few days to see what she can do and she will get back with me.
It is now the 15th and i have yet to receive a call back from this woman. I decided to check my bill to see if i got a charge and sure enough there is a service call charge for $51.25. So i called them back tonight and this guy tells me he is going to put a damage claim in for me. Now why is it that a supervisor did not do this from the start?
I guess this is going to be a very long process to get this issue taken care of. Not to mention this is at my mothers ( she is her 60's & disabled ) in which im only here from time time to help her & pay her bills. I not only pay my own bills, but i pay hers as well. So to them $50 might not be much, but for me it is.
I now see why these satellite companies have the so called rules where they need to get approval from the building owner before installing the service!! Why is it they never actually ask for this paper work?
