After MANY years of using the SAME cable and internet provider I contacted DIRECT TV b/c they were having an EXCELLENT DEAL!  If it's TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE--IT IS!  I spent LITERLYY HOURS of MY valuable tiume w/DIRECT TV. Open, honest,--upfront told exactly !- my budget. @-wat I wanted-cable TV-130 didgital channels-nothing else--no FRRE stuff, no extra channels or programming. that all--CABLE & INTERNET---TOLD rep EXACT MY BUDGET WAS>  Was told by the rep--not a problem at all. we are happy to serve you and glad you have come to us--we WILL DO THAT FOR YOU WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. 5--FIVE TIMES I WAS PROMISED--GUARENTEED--THAT I WOULOD GET---130 DIGITAL CHANNELS-50% OF EHICH ARE HD. NOTHING ELSE--NOR FREE CHANNELS-NO EXTRAS--and hugh speed internet. I asked every question imaginable--EVERYTHING---rep said--not a problem at all--I promise you this will be the total--all u ill pay with your 2 yrs contract--i had 61/2 pages of handwritten notes with ALL I was promised/guarenteed--five times I asked to verified--ensure there were NO misunderstanding. NOT one time was a word spoken about AT&T except I was given a nmbr to call in am to find out what the speed was of their internet--NOT ONE WORD ABOUT AT&t--PERIOD.

FIVE---5--times i was quoted the price of 1st yr for 130 digital channnels, 50% are HD channels---NO other charges--did a credit check and I qualified for FREE EVERYTHING--free install--free equipment--free everything. NOT A PENNY MORE--I PROMISE. 1st yr for direct TV and iunternet was $20.99, then the 2nd yr wud go to $50. that's with a 2 yr commitment. 

I wrote 5 times--each time I was promised this was all i'd ever pay--I wrote--"awesome'  great deal" go for it--PUT HAPPY FACES, EXCLAMATION POINTS. yea!!!  HOW GREAT!!  MAN-SURE WIDH i'D CALLED THEM EARLIER. Even siad to this "rep"--somtimes when spmething sounds TOO good to be true it is---I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE--I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING---REP AND I WENT OVER THE TOTAL COST--PERIOD.

DISCUSSED w/rep--about the spped of internet--he said he had no idea that was up to AT&T--he gave me the number to call--was told it's open 24/7--LIE---nope--8am to 6pm I believe. So, I called AT&T asked their speed-was told it was different prices for different speeds and the DIRECT TV REP has  access to all that information and wasn't sure WHY he'd not tell me.  

Well. AT&T speed(fiberoptic) varies as does the cost to as much as $90!!!  huh---interesting seeing as the first TOPIC I SPECIFICALLY TOLD the direct TV rep--my budget for direct tv and internet was $45-$50 MAX--which is wat I am presently paying, but it was a promotional "deal" and the cost was going up.  Needless to say the AT&T rep was VERY UPSET the DIRECT TV rep was NOT HONEST, OPEN or forthcoming with the information he had to give to ALL customers. I thanked the AT&T rep, apologized, but that is NOT THE BUDGET I CAN COME CLOSE to accepting, not is it even CLOSE TO THE PROIMISES--GUARENTEE made to me 5--FIVE times by DIRECTR TV REP--name  MARK----

 

I called DIRECT TV BACK--quite angry--very upset--literally in tears b/c of the half day I was LIED to over and over again by a rep named MARK and a rep name EMANUAL.  When I called DIRECT TV back--I spoke to a VERY NICE LADY named JAN--I BLEW UP ON HER---I YELLED--I was very rude to her--inappropriate--angry--beyond angry--I DO NOT ASSOCIATE or PUT UP WITH LIARS>  Jan was GREAT, very understanding, very kind, apologized right and left. I have NEVER felt so HORRIBLE speaking to POOR innocent JAN--I am NOT the type to take out MY anger on an innocent person. I apologized several times--asked for forgiveness---JAN  reassured me--she's feel the same and she'd do the SAME as I did and feel the same. JAN WAS WONDERFUL!!! Contacted HER supervisor and was offered FREE cable tv for 5 months!! GREAT!! wonderful!! Thank you so much!!  BUT--wat about months--6-12 and yr 2???  I EXPLICITY TOLD THE REP MY BUDGET-----even with this generous(HA HA) offer of FREE cable for 5 months---sound s almost GREAT---but---then my bill is STILL 50-60 dollars OVER MY EXPLICITLY STATED BUDGET---that I was PROMISED--

 

LIES----LIES----LIES AND MORE LIES.  PROMISES MADE---GUARENTEES MADE--THIS IS YOUR TOTAL AMT FOR 2 YRS--PERIOD. EVERYTHING FREE--NO INSTALL CHRGS, NO EQUIPMENT FEES--NOTHING--THIS IS THE TOTAL---5--FIVE TIMES THIS WAS PROMISED.

NOPE!!  NOPE!!! NOPE!!

 

PLEASE--I'M BEGGING YOU---DO NOT--DO NOT--DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH DIRECT TV--OR EVEN AT&t AS BOTH ARE IN THIS TOGETHER AND FRAUDUALANTLY "FAIL TO GIVE U INFO THEY HAVE 100% ACCESS TO---B/C IF THEY GIVE CUSTOMER THE PRICES---NO FOOL WOULD EVER GO WITH THEIR ALLEDGED"DEAL"--RIPPOFF BIG TIME. PLEASE DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH DIRECT TV OR AT&T INTERNET.

 

OH, yes, I did receive the "sccripted" apology how serious DIRECT TV takes customers complaints and unsatisfactory service. well, what about the half day I wasted to ensure I was getting the best deal I cud get--I am--as so many americans r--on a FIXED INCOME--my budget is to the penny!!  I informed the rep--1st thing wat my budget was and wat I wanted---was told no problem we will do that and we are so happy to have you as a customer--BLAH---BLAH---BLAH----BLAH!!!  LIES---LIES---LIES---MISLEADING FRAUDULANT BUSINESS PRACTICES PERIOD. I'M STILL IN SHOCK. IF THEY--DIRECT TV REALLY CARED--WHAT WOULD THEY DO?? GIVE ME WHAT I EXPLICITLY ASKED FOR ACCORDING TO MY BUDGET AND WHAT THEY PROMISED AND GUARENTEED FOR ME--FIVE TIMES------

 

I ate crow pie--called my original provider back--explained ALL to them---they--as they have for 20 plus years---gave me the deal I asked for and UNDER MY BUDGET!!!

 

STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV AND AT&T INTERNET SERVICES--THEY LIE. THEY THRETEN YOU, THE R MISLEADING. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU INFORMATION YOU MUST HAVE. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE---
