I used the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) promotional offer when ordering my Dish service.  I called the number on the brochure I got from AAFES and used the promotion code as instructed: EXCHANGE.  The representative I spoke with confirmed the promotion code and the corresponding offer, which was a $10 credit per month for the first 12 months and a $100 AAFES gift card.

When a couple months had passed and I had not yet received the gift card or the $10 credit on my monthly bill, I called Dish to inquire about it.  They informed me that the promotion code was never applied, and that it had to have been applied at the time of ordering.  I explained to them that I had done this, but they told me it could not be applied retroactively.

I continued to assert my case and was transferred to three different people to try to resolve the case.  The best they could offer me was the $10 credit for 12 months, but could not compensate me for the $100 gift card.  I proceeded to state my case on the facebook site, providing a scan of the brochure that I had used.  The associate I communicated with on facebook confirmed the offer I should have received and said he was forwarding the case to the loyalty department to be worked with the financial back office.

When a month or so had passed and I had not heard anything, I again inquired on facebook and was told the $100 gift card was denied since the offer was not shown on my account.  I was then told I could call the loyalty department to further discuss my case.  They essentially told me the same thing and the best they could do was give me $10 per month credit for 12 months, but no compensation for the $100 gift card I should have gotten.

Needless to say, I was very disappointed with their lack of understanding and failure to compensate for a mistake that THEY had made.  As the customer, I had done all I was required to do to apply the promotion to my service order.  Their mistake cost me $100.  I guess this is how they treat their customers, not to mention military servicemembers!
