I purchased a vry nice 2003 Passat from /eastern Motros at an intertest rate of 24%; after having the car for six months, it stopped working put the key in the ignition, nothing, get jumps runs for a minute nothing. Basicly the lemon I purchased from Eastern Motors made my already sour credit, more sour.

Same Problem! Same Location

AUTHOR: MDDriver - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 28, 2011

I also purchased a used car from Easterns of Rockville and experienced problems with the car. I returned the car within 24 hours of purchase because the horn and lights kept going off when the car was turned on. Each time that I returned it, Eastern's kept the car for several days, a month the last time, and would return the car only to have the problem occur again. On the last repair, I refused to pick the car up. I contacted the lienholder and explained the problem and asked if I could get another car or the loan rescinded.

They advised me to work with the dealership. Easterns refused either option. Two months later, the lienholder contacted me to inquire about where the car was, and I told them the dealership had it. Easterns reported to them that they did not have it and I was advised to file a police report. Easterns was able to find the car, but the lienholder had to send a tow truck to get it. I never saw the car again, but for the past 3 1/2 years, I've been in litigation with the lienholder for the balance of the car loan and unfair sales practices between the dealership, the warranty company - for a warranty that they said I had to purchase, but could never use, and the 3rd party collection agency that the leinholder has sold my account to for the unpaid balance on the loan...FOR A CAR THAT NEVER WORKED!

In march of this year, I was finally able to get another car but not in my name. As a result of this case, I have had 80+ inquiries from attempts to purchase a car to replace this one. This nightmare has ruined my credit and my faith in auto dealerships.

Do you know what the problem is?

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (U.S.A.)

The fact that you can get it started with a jump, but that it dies soon afterward could mean something as simple as a dead battery. Have you even bothered to have the car checked out before declaring it a lemon? It sounds like your expectations are that this used car you bought should never have any mechanical issues. If that's true, then you're probably going to be very disappointed in the future.
