Erie Construction Rip Off WAY overcharges for siding, UPSALE scams, high pressure sales, Dayton Ohio

I called Erie Construction after seeing their display at the Dayton Home Show. Thought they would be a fair, honest company. BOY was I wrong.

First of all I should have known something was wrong when they kept calling me to set up an appointment to send someone out for an estimate.

After getting 5 calls, I finally said,"ok" I was worried about my roof. The sales person came out and said the roof was fine, and before I knew it, I was signing a contract for 13,225.00 for siding ONLY On the soffits and wood below the windows and for window trim to cover the wood left unprotected.

I thought is was a lot, but trusted the Erie Construction name and was told we had a lot of square footaege on our home. Linear square footage. Our gables were already sided.So this did not even include that. MY husband was very ill with pneumonia and didn't even sit down with us. I signed the contract and felt weird about it, but my husband was too sick to really deal with it.

After 12 days, we decided some other things needed to take priority and we called to cancel. Of course we were out of our 3 day cancellation period. They want to charge you 25% of the total balance. There is much more to this story, but to simplify things, they said they would send a sales person out to rework the contract to meet our needs.

He came with no definitive outcomes. He couldn't tell us the amount we would be charged if cancelling. He coudlnt' even rework a contract for perhaps just siding under the windows for 2,000. He kept pushing for us to refinance with ERie's special financing and pay over time.

Does anyone know how we can get out of this. We haven't backed down yet but i did something really stupid. I paid for all of it on our credit card. 13,225.00. They said they could not credit that amount back. NOTHING had been delivered to our home and no work done. simple vinyle white siding. HELP

our credit card company is disupting but i am concerned they will charge our card for their 25% recoop money.
