We live in a rural area so it took some time finding an internet company to provide service at our house.  Exede was one of those providers so I called to see if it would be a good fit.  I told them that I would be streaming the internet all day (as I have a toddler at home) on Netflix and Amazon.  Exede's customer representative told me that the 10gb plan would suit my needs just fine.  This was not the case when we got the service installed.  I've had to upgrade my plan twice, now at 30gb plan, the most offered for my area at over double the cost of what I thought would be sufficent.  30gb gets used in one day!  I called to speak with a manager and asked if they would have offered the same plan to their mother and the agent said it wouldn't be her fault if they streamed too much data.  So I was baited with a small plan, only to be locked in for a three year contract!  To cancel the service, even though I was sold under false pretenses, I will have to pay early termination of $15/month until November of 2017.  I bascially have no internet or tv for the next 16 months.  I would warn people who live in the country not to be fooled by exede.  They will sell you on whatever they can and then hold you "under contract" until you go absolutely crazy.

AUTHOR: Disgusted in Indiana - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 30, 2016

I have had a very similar experence within the last 3 weeks. I live in a rural area in Indiana and we had been looking for a new provider. We saw a sign advertising Excede Internet and contacted them. The firm I spoke with was I Go Wireless, and I explained to the salesperson that I watched Netflix, and point blank asked if the service had a data cap and was told 'no".   I scheduled the Install and once it was done, I called one more time to I Go Wireless and  spoke with the same person and asked again if there was a data cap and was once again told there waas no data cap. I then received a letter in the mail which indciated I needed to call Exede and provide them with an email address.  When I spoke with the Customer Service rep, she told indicated I only had 10 gig per month.

I called the rep at I Go Wireless and he told me for the first tine that I had 10 gig but explained after reaching that limit, my service would simply slow down but would still support Netflix.  After serveral calls attempting to speak with a Customer Service rep at Excede (with included 30 minutes on hold, leaving voicemails that were not returned) I was able to speak with a supervisor and was basically told that I signed a 2 year agreement and was offered half ioff the cost. I feel I was sold this service under false information and feel they should come get their equipment and return my money,  The supervisor did not agree and gave me the email and address for ViaSat legal.  I would be very very willing to be part of a class action lawsuit it one is organized.  Warning, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR SERVICE
