I received a call from First Credit of America a few days ago for my step son who does not live here. I let the operator know and they said well this is a verified number so they will not remove it and then hung up the phone on me. So i called back and the same person answered and then after I said I want to talk to a manager said not possible then he hung up on me again.
Then I called back again and got another operator and he said he was a So called manager (no manager is going to pick up the phone) and said oh I will take your number off and I asked for his name so I could call him back when I got another call and he gave it to me and said well in 3 days I want you to call me back in 3 days and tell me thanks when they dont call you.
Well it is the 2nd day and my husband got a very rude call asking agian for my step son. He again told him he does not live here. My husband said we already told you that and he hung up on him. My husband tried to call back several times and they continues to hang up. So when I got home I tried to call and ask for a manager and they put me on hold....for llike 30 minutes so I used my cell and called again and they again had me on hold on both phones. So i used a 3rd phone and they refused to get a manager.
I did however find out they are in Chicago Il. I did get a fax...866-233-9754 and a so called corporate number 866-505-2632. Not sure if they are correct I did try the corporate number and it is friday night and it is a voice mail. Hope this helps someone...or someone can help me STOP THE CALLS!

hi iam a former employee of the company and i can truly sympathize with your complaints. effective 04-30-07 the owners of this deceptive company closed their doors leaving over 50 employees with out jobs with out any previous notice. their had been several complaints against this company by their own clients because they also had been ripped off. today i personally went to a local currency exchange to cash a check and i was advise that they will no longer do buisness with me because of a 92.00 payroll check had bounced that was giving to me by the oweners of first credit in the month of november at this point i have been unable to track down these scum baggs , this company also collected boggish accounts for a company called charge me later which is a internet web site that allows consumer's to select their method of payment when they visit certain webs sites . bottom line these scum baggs needs to be held accountable for all of the mischevious acts. i know for a fact that these owners have made millions of dollars ripping off consumers and employees.

Possible explanation

I work in a collection agency, although I work with pre-charge off accounts for anothe company. I will try and explain what they meant by a "verified" number, and why the second call. A "verified" number is one that they have had someone say that in this case, your step son lives there. This could have been one time previously where they called, and someone offered to take a message, or if the number was listed on another account where contact was made, or if a phone book search (or internet search engine) showed him living there.
As for a call on the 2nd day, the only explanation I can come up with is that updates to the automatic dialer are not done when the number is removed from the file. I try and tell people on the phone that it usually takes 24-48 hours for the number to be removed from the dialer. Of course, that is assuming that they did remove the number.
