I orded that floam stuff from FLOAM.COM and was ripped OFF. They claim they are double sized tubs. They are small. THey are the size of a tub of chicken salad or coleslaw that you can buy at your local grocery store. They are 3oz each.

I paid 19.95 for the floam and 7.95 for s/h for a total of 27.90. I have never seen them advertise anything BUT double sized tubs on tv or the internet. I believe this is a marketing scam.

Advertise double sized tubs while they last to trick people to order them. Send them these small 3oz tubs and if they complain tell them they WERE 1.5oz tubs and if you want a refund you will only get the 19.95 back. PLus you have to pay for shipping back to them. So your out $12. Which is almost half of the total cost in the first place so your forced to keep it and the charges since you allready paid for it.

For the price of what I paid for that floam I could have made a crap load of my own. Check this out.

And for the beads....

And just in case....

The 3rd one is to a type of chemical that can be used instead of glue. Its safe since its used in glues anyways.

The last link is to show you how to create a 4% solution of that chemical. And its also an idea of how to make your own slim like the stuff you use to get in the quarter machines.

One last response...

AUTHOR: Norm - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 21, 2006

After updating my report about the resolution I was on the phone with my father for some time and me and him both remembered. During the entire duration that FLOAM has been out they have ALWAYS advertised DOUBLE SIZED TUBS UPGRADE FOR FREE. The Ads have never been WITHOUT the upgrade. This is deceptive advertisement. You make a new product. To boast it sales immediately you advertise a fake free upgrade even tho you planned on selling it as it was, upgrade or not. I am 199% certain that they have never sold a single 1.5 oz tub.

Complaint Resolved

AUTHOR: Norm - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 20, 2006

We as it seems they have finally responded to my complaint with them through the BBB. Here is what they had to say. Just a small part of it.

"In the interest of goodwill a standard Floam kit consisting of 4 tubs is being shipped to Mr Poulin no charge. I apologize for any misunderstandings of inconvenience to Mr Poulin as satisfied customers are very important to us."

To be honest this was not what we asked for. But its good enough. We originally asked for ALL our money plus an extra tub or 2 sent to us. I will accept that.

They need to make it clear on their web site that its a 3.5 oz tub. And to be honest I dont think that they have actually sent a standard size tub to any one. The offer says double sized tubs. The original size 1.5. Can you imagine receiving 4 tubs of 1.5 oz each of floam for 27.90? They market it like they were selling 1.5 oz for 19.95 for some time and offering you the chance to double size them for free. I can honestly say that I seriously doubt that they have NEVER EVER sold a single 1.5 oz tub of Floam. Imagine getting less than half of what it is now for that price!

Just my point

I didnt watch the video. I dont like going to a website and get boomed by a video/music. Give me the option to play it, but dont force me to. If I want to watch it I will play it.

So I am not sure about the endless supply of it. But I do know to do most of the stuff that they say you can do with it would require MOST of it. I have 2 kids. It wouldnt go far between them. Heck I probably would play with it myself. And I am not paying another $28 just so both my kids can have some.

I would rather pay $40 to make it myself and have a lot more to go around. In fact I would only have to pay $40 (about give or take a couple of $$$) just this one time. After that its just a matter of buying more styrofoam beads and borax and food coloring.

The most expensive part is the special chemical used to create the SLIM that the beads is mixed in. Called Polyvinyl Alcohol or PVA for short is $12 for a 1lb pail. And to create one of those tubs from floam I only need 4 grams of it. So it goes a long way.

Tubs, not Pails.

AUTHOR: Dave - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, June 15, 2006

The pictures on the site show the tubs without anything by which to judge their size.

But the movie on the site clearly shows the tubs sitting among all the toys and kids while they are playing with it. The tubs look small. As you found out, they are small.

Also the video does seem to give the impression that the tubs hold an endless supply of the stuff. And there's nowhere to find out actual dimensions of these tubs.

Misleading advertisement, certainly.

I noticed that my links have been removed from my post and I saw and read the link about that. I understand the dangers of visiting websites like that and is the reason why I use firefox 110% of the time. My links was just a helpful alternative for others so they wont end up in my situation. Now I know there is no way for you or any one to know that with out trying it. Now I also know that its not your responsibility if they do visit a malicious website from a link that was posted here. Its nice that you are taking action to prevent it but its also limiting some very helpfull information that others could use. And sometimes that info cant just be quoted in the report so a link is necessary.

What could be done is you setup the websites script to replace the link with a question box asking if they are sure they want to visit that website and tell them that it may contain malicious code and give them a yes or no choice on it. Or you could just have someone at your business test the links approve/disaprove the links. Have the report system scan for links and restrict them until that guy has approved them. And once they are approved, make them active in the post. But while they are waiting for approval make sure the post is still accesible regardless if the links are active yet or not.

Im not trying to get someone back. I started that ripoff report and am just linking to some usefull information that I fount on an earlier post about the same company. Advertising a better alternative.

At any rate thank you for your time and I hope you consider my alternatives to this problem.

Not so...

AUTHOR: Norm - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 14, 2006

The pics from their website shows the general shape of the tubs. It does not show how big they are. Furthermore they could at least tell the actual size...example.....3oz.

I dont know why my first post did not include the links but here they are again...hopefully they will stick this time. In the same order as before...

Those are small tubs

AUTHOR: Dave - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 14, 2006

The ad running on their website clearly shows how small the "double size tubs" are.

Hopefully, you've been able to warn others away from buying such a small amount of the stuff.
