This rip-off collection agency is demanding $1,136.04 for the corrupt Worldcom Wireless! W.W. screwed consumers by not sending bills 2 to 3 months. When we did receive bills, they were enormous and they refused to provide any explanation for these absurd charges.

We were even instructed, in writing, to NOT pay bills for a couple of months. They were supposedly "working to straighten out their billing problems".

Then, they discontinued service, unannounced, and were unreachable by phone - it rang and nobody ever answered. This went on for months. Occasionally, somebody would call and I would tell them I would be glad to pay my bill - as soon as they verified what I actually owed them. They always promised to provide documentation but none ever came.

It has been 6 months and now, apparently, they have continued to bill us. GC Services even added a nasty note on their bill, stating that "you KNOW you owe this". Just wondered if anybody else is experiencing this problem in regard to Worldcom?

There has been relief for everybody else involved in the MCI Worldcom mess EXCEPT for us poor saps, THE CONSUMER!

#2 Consumer Suggestion

what they can and cannot do, and what to do if they violate such laws

In a situation like this, there are things that some governmont agencies can do for you. One of the best agencies to contact is the Federal Trade Commision (FTC). The FTC does not just work with insider trading as many believe.

They also help consumers with situations like this. You can go to the FTC website or call them. Here is a great link to a page on the FTC website that concerns to debt collectors..

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/fdc.htm
There you will find out what they can and cannot do, and what to do if they violate such laws. As for worldcom, there are many pages on the website that pertain to them in this matter.

Some GC Services employees perished in the World Trade Center. Ironic terrorists being killed by terrorists. They built up bad karma from terrorizing working class. It does not matter if you are innocent or guilty they want your money.
