Four years ago I completely redid my kitchen. I installed over 8000 dollars worth of Ge kitchen appliances believing they were top quality. Apparently I was wrong. last week, the dishwasher caught fire. I contacted Ge to have it repaired. I was informed that the warranty on parts was 5 years so parts were covered. It took a week for the repairman to put in an appearance. The repairman removed the front cover of the washer and found that the main control board had burned up. The connector to the main harness had also burned up with the board. I was then informed that The harness with the burned out cable was not available and my dishwasher was not repairable. All the repairman could suggest was that I call GE customer relations on monday. He then had the utter gall to demand a 95 dollar payment for this "call".







I refused to pay wherein he explained that the bill would be sent to collections. After that bit of unpleasantness, I went to a local electronics store where I purchased a new connector, repaired the harness with the new connector and installed a new control board. The dishwasher now operates no thanks to GE.







I REFUSE TO PAY FOR WORK I HAD TO DO MYSELF.







I recommend that no one EVER buys an appliance from GE. What are they thinking when a critical electrical part for a machine which is still in production and being sold is NOT AVAILABLE?







Why was it necessary for me to complete this repair whei I had a hired a repairman?







Take a lesson and NEVER buy from these incompetents.
