I just had to brew another pot of coffee to get through, what seems like an endless list of complaints against this company. And boy do I feel stupid. To think that a legitimate, ethical company would really do what their salesmen said they would, and with a money back guarantee to boot. Was just to good to be true. I guess if it smells like a skunk, and feels like a skunk, it must be a skunk. And boy does this outfit stink.
Phone calls that seldom get answered, messages that never get returned, e-mails that are undeliverable info@greatcarsandtrucks.com --- try usa@greatcarsand trucks.com. Then there is Bev the mystery woman, keeper of the money back guarantee. Whom, from what I gather from all the complaints, NO one has ever spoken with. Say what you will defenders of GC&T, but all the complaints against this company speak volumes to the dubious business tactics. Questionable tactics that I intend to put it into a formal complaint with the Alberta Corporate & Consumer Affairs office www.gov.ab.ca/gs 780-427-4088.
Naming such good folks as Neil Edwards 1-866-222-7411 of the Edmonton office, who sold me the bill of goods on GC&T and has yet to return a phone call from in almost 3 months. Refund administrator Bev 1-866-672-2305, whom I have sent 2 e-mails in the last 3 days and have yet to hear a word from.
I did some research on Craig McMorran the owner, whom I understand is presently under investigation by the office of consumer affairs. And a Calgary TV station for his questionable business operation. Why would he have all his companies under his mother's name (Audrey Shmidt)? Is there any truth to the rumor that he has all his money hidden offshore, doesn't pay Canadian tax and that the credit department at GC&T is a myth? Google his name, you'll be surprised at what comes up. Try James Steinhubl running the Edmonton office, he's presently facing 60 counts of mortgage fraud by the RCMP.
Dig deeper and it just keeps getting better.

EM, going by the remarks you make and the language you use, you are a very uneducated moron. I hope there aren't very many more bottom feeding parasites like you swimming around out there. Where does your 2 bit company get the nerve to ask honest people for their credit card number over the phone and then rob these people of their hard earned money. Your 90 day gaurantee means nothing. It's just a line that you use to trick people in to giving their credit card info. to scums like you. If your business is so honest, then why don't you give out the address of your 2 bit company so people can come to your crappy business to claim their refund when they have to.

Your comment says it all "The simple fact is that Greatcarsandtrucks.com is less a rip off than the autotrader." Thanks for agreeing with us that it is a ripoff.
As for me living in Australia and your scam company being in Canada you should learn how much of a global community we live in. A scam and a lie is a scam and a lie no matter where you live. The company that you scam for has refunded very few people despite mouthing what you have once again mouthed "If you look at some of the other so-called 'rip off reports' on this site you will see the people have the option of recieveing AND DO RECEIVE a full money back refund after 90 days. Thats our guarantee. " That is how your scam works - you promise to refund but don't - if you did there would be no mention of GC&T on this site!!!!!!
You invite us to set up a site and compete with you but unfortunately the only way to compete is to be unethical and lie as you do so thanks but no thanks. You are a minion with a crappy website, a deceitful business plan and the morals of an alley cat so thanks for the huge laugh (you don't really believe the drivel you spouted, do you?) Your atrocious spelling and grammar indicates that you have very little education and thus are the ideal employee for GC&T. Happy Scamming!!

Wow you people accually care about this crap. I mean here we have buddy in Walla Walla, Austraila, complaining about some canadian company that has no bearing on his life whatsoever. The simple fact is that Greatcarsandtrucks.com is less a rip off than the autotrader. If you look at some of the other so-called 'rip off reports' on this site you will see the people have the option of recieveing AND DO RECEIVE a full money back refund after 90 days. Thats our guarantee.
The only one the auto trader offers is that they will call you up every 2 weeks and demand more money for doing basicly nothing. And thats exactly why morons that file these so called 'complaints' have no real ground to stand on. If you want to file a real 'rip off report' do one about the auto trader. Or even better still, if you think the Great cars and trucks is a big rip off, why not come up with somthing better and compete with us instead of sitting on your arse writeing on this lame website. Because that's how we got started and by being proactive and innovative we have advanced the way people sell used cars in ways the Trader couldent dream of.
This will be the last time I ever post on this site, as it really bothers me to be placed with some of the dummies that post here. And by the way to any potential clients that may read this, if you accually look at all the complaints you'll notice that its all by the same dozen people. And thats just sad.......

You need to learn to read E.M.
AUTHOR: Wally - (Australia)
SUBMITTED: Friday, August 04, 2006
Well said EM!!! How about reading all the complaints on this 2 bit web site about the scumbags you work for before you open your uninformed mouth. You want to view a real 2 bit website just pull up the joke that you sell ads on and that is the prime example. Everybody that has claimed a refund from you scammers has filled out the paperwork as required and still no refund.
So take your foot out of your mouth and your head out of your backside and get a real job. You are a johnny come lately, obviously and have no concept of how bad your employers are. Please don't tell me you are a contractor - you are - but you are still employed to scam people and lie to everyone when you tell them there is a money back guarantee. One refund after waiting for 2 years does not make your employers a feelgood business. When you leave they will scam you also so be warned. You have time to get out - you already know that the business is shonky because you won't put your name to your rebuttal because you don't wish to be associated with the bottom feeding business you work for.
This site, far from being a 2bit site is a 5 star effort in that it protects consumers from sales scammers like you.
I know you passed the interview for your job because the only requirement to join GCAT is that your IQ must roughly equate to your shoe size. Have a read up on your employers and then come back and tell us that the customers need to learn to read.
Happy scamming!!!

RE: Can you follow instructions ....are you kidding?
AUTHOR: Tony - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Friday, August 04, 2006
Listen Mr GC&T your company is at best a low-brow operation and we all know you know that.
You keep saying that the customer didn't read the guarantee bla bla bla.
Only reason I got my refund is because I harassed you and had my lawyer get involved and you know what I would have spent a thousand dollars to get back my hundred from you.
Not because I needed it or anything else other then there was no way this so called company was going to get a penny from me.
The biggest mistake you made was finally giving me my refund because what it tells people is that even when you meet all of your guarantee you still try to scam the customer until threatened ,then you do what you were supposed to or get your but throwing in jail.
I will continue to post on as many websites I can letting the public know about GC&T and pointing people to this site.
It's a shame that a company like this is still scamming people but hey your actions are why used car salesmen have the reputation they have.
It's people like you that are making everyone else UN trusting and skeptic of any and every dealings with on-line companies or any company for that matter.
You'll get yours one day and will end up in jail or bankrupt.

Can you follow instructions
AUTHOR: Seifer - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, July 25, 2006
Im not going to say my name or tell you what office I work from, but I can tell you why some people dont get their money back. If you look at the money back form (http://www.greatcarsandtrucks.com/guarantee.htm)
You will notice that it must be notarized and must include a coply of your registation or ownship papers. It would seem that the people complaining about not getting their money back cant read or somthing because Ive personally have seen people get their money back when they follow these instructions. I do have one suggestion to these people who want to complain about our so-called 'scam', instead of complaining about us on some 2 bit website why dont you go and learn how to read? Because if your too retarded to figure out a simple form such as the one I have provided a link to then you must have bigger issues to worry about than getting your $100 bucks back.
Thanks. E.M.

AUTHOR: Tony - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Monday, July 24, 2006
I actually got my refund after I harassed and I mean harassed them repeatedly for two years.
Also posted on the BBB site and here, and e-mailed the racing club Craig's a volunteer at and asked them why they would have a low life like him on their staff.
Laugh if you want but it worked, only took two years lol.
Man what a bunch of low lives at that company

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006
Just received xerox copy of refund denial ... talk about low brow operation. Looks like it has been copied a 100 times. Reason for denial, refund request received prior to 90 day date.
Ok .... I screwed up, shame on me, but with all the postings of excuses from this outfit new one of two things would happen.
1 Denial because we received your request after the 7 calendar days.
2 Denial because we received your request to soon.
Man talk about having all the angles covered. Your screwed no matter what way you go.
Think about it! If you waited the exact time on the refund form they want you to wait and then filed. How could you prove they had it in their possession within the allotted time?
Look at all the complaints against this outfit and draw your own conclusions. Then look around and see if you can find any defenders who have actually received a refund. GOOD LUCK .... AINT GONNA HAPPEN !!!!!!! Avoid this company at all costs.

Didn't use CC
AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, May 19, 2006
Not sure if that was good or bad. But I'm very reluctant to give out CC info so sent them a personal check.
Either way, their total lack of ethics, the inability to ever talk to anyone in person, and the ongoing song & dance routines, leads me to believe this is nothing more than a boiler room operation intent on fleecing the consumer and providing literally no tangible results for the fee paid.
This line about we work to sell your vehicle and can often times get you more for it than what you think it's worth. Is as bogus as the financing they claim to provide. In the 4 months listed with them not 1 phone call and the price has been lowered to bargain basement levels.
Speaks real highly for them and their marketing.
NOT !
If they spent as much time making an honest effort to sell the vehicles they list, as they do trying to con new people in ....... why heck they may become a recognized reputable business.
But I doubt that's soon to happen.

#4 Consumer Suggestion
call your CC company
AUTHOR: Justin - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Friday, May 19, 2006
call your credit card company and notify them about this company. They will investigate the matter. Even if you don't get your money back, you should still warn others and also your CC company. Great cars and trucks borke the promise of selling your vehicle and also the promise to refund the full amount of your money. My credit card company has launched an investigation on great cars and trucks. No matter how long ago it was that you'd paid them, you should do the same.

#3 Consumer Suggestion
4 weeks & counting & still NO refund
AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, May 18, 2006
Received e-mail from GC&T stating they were having difficulty locating my file & paper work? Oh, and that it can take up to 8 weeks to process the refund! Right
This they claim was due to the multiple locations. Go figure, now you can franchise fraud in Canada? What an interesting concept!
Well I forwarded to them the numerous correspondences I've had, along with a copy of my check. In hopes that it would speed up the process. (After all you can never get anyone to answer a phone, so what other choice do you have?) But of course no response.
Just another smoke screen I suspect while they think up a new song and dance routine to my next e-mail. I hope if anyone reads this before signing on with these people, that this warning is adequate enough to make you think twice.

The above was sent to me on April 11,2006 after numerous attempts to make contact with GC&T by phone and e-mail. Not very professional, but at this stage of the game I'm not expecting much professionalism from this outfit or anyone associated with it.
Refund was sent the following day with all the requested notarized forms. No further word from them, and doubtful there will be any. Will post further update in 2 weeks.

Great Cars and Trucks not so great
AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, April 11, 2006
Overview of the commonality of complaints against GC&T.
The targets all have an ad with Auto Trader.
Salesman makes a point of over emphasizing the money back guarantee to cinch the deal, but fails to mention the gotchas.
Phone calls are seldom if ever returned.
Phone calls are seldom answered.
Messages can be left on answering machine, but never get returned.
E-mail address posted on web site doesn't work.
Salesman implies that turn over on AD's is less than 90 days due in part to the financing they offer.
Response to AD's speak for themselves, there isn't any!
Any attempts to collect on the "Money Back Guarantee" are futile.
Salesman's spiel varies to fit the fish he has on the line. When I questioned mine about the fine print on the guarantee, I was told by him I didn't need to have notarized or even send in a copy of the title, only had to notify them and refund would be remitted. Right.....
Bottom line, they take your money, provide NO tangible service other than posting your AD & photo's on an obscure site, with little or no traffic. Do little or nothing to promote the sale of the vehicle. Appear to have more interest in coning people into placing AD's than trying to sell vehicles. Have no intention from the onset of ever honoring the "Money Back Guarantee".

Advertisers above have met our
strict standards for business conduct.
