Great Cars And Trucks I was scammed too. Got my money back even though company didn't want to refund. ripoff Calgary Alberta

My experience with Great Cars and Trucks is very similar to other complaints I have read on this site. I placed an ad on AutoTrader back in February for an automobile and then a telemarketer from Great Cars and Trucks called. Like many other complaints I have read, I was also told that they had a buyer preapproved by a finance company and that there was a 90 day guarantee if the car didn't sell.

Months passed and no one contacted me except AutoTrader consumers. Great Cars and Trucks wouldn't reply to my e-mails to I initiated a dispute with my credit card company. Great Cars and Trucks did respond to my credit card company and refused to honor their money back guarantee because I didn't fill out, notarize and send back the form on their website. That wasn't disclosed to me by the telemarketer, I would have never authorized the transaction had the telemarketer said I would need to fill out the form, pay a notary and spend more money for international postage to mail the form to their Canadian address.

I also read several complaints from people who sent the notarized form, months have passed and they still haven't received their refund. The telemarketer also said that the cost of their service was $159 US dollars. The company charged my credit card 186 Canadian dollars...when that was converted into US dollars, I got billed for more than $159.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about my credit card company since they rebilled my account because I did not comply with the website refund policy the Great Cars and Trucks telemarketer failed to disclose. The credit card company did reply to the BBB and issued a courtesy credit to my account. While it was nice to receive the credit, I would have preferred that they had issued the chargeback I requested. Great Cars and Trucks should have forfeited the money, not my credit card company.

I also read on another ripoff report by an ex-employee that ALL credit card numbers are recorded and kept at their office. I had to close my account in July and request a new credit card with a different account number because I noticed 4 unauthorized charges for $82.40 each from Saudi Arabia on my credit card statement. I sure wouldn't be surprised if Great Cars and Trucks had anything to do with these mysterious charges.
