Haverty's ripoff breach of contract rip-off Greenville South Carolina

This report is concerning Haverty's Furniture Store. My wife and I went there one afternoon to look at a bedroom suit. The saleslady showed us around and we found one that we liked. The saleslady told us about the 18 months interest free. The total was going to be around $2100.00. We had plenty enough money to pay cash but since they have no intrest for 18 months we thought save our savings and make payments.

Anyway we gave them all of our personal information they needed. They said the would need $500.00 down payment. We gave them that. Then they drew up the contract showing our payments and such, and gave us the delivery date. The next afternoon we got a call from them saying we was not approved of credit. I told them we had a contract and we already payed $500. She gave the main credit department tel. number. Needless to say that didn't do anygood. I believe it is their loss not ours we clearly had enough money to pay cash and would have if they had not tricked us like that.

Needless to say we went to another furniture that was close by and found something we also liked. We told them how Haverty's treated us and they was shocked. They also had a interest free plan. They checked our credit and within 10 minutes told us we did not have bad credit just not much credit.

Anyway the manager personal came to out cause he heard our bad experience with Haverty's and told us to pick out any bedroom we licked no matter the cost and they would finance it. So we did. Also we are reporting Haverty's to consumer affairs and the better business bureau. We are submitting this hoping that anyone who reads it wont shop at Haverty's and tell other people the same.
