I just was trying to find an address of the Home Depot Corporate office and stumbled across this website, only to find that there are many people having the same issues. I decided to write a letter directly to CEO Frank Blake with my complaint and I also added a couple of pages of Home Depot complaints from this website. So here it is: Monday, July 09, 2007
Home Depot Corporate Office
Frank Blake CEO
2455 Paces Ferry Road
Atlanta, Georgia 30339
Dear Mr. Blake,
I am writing to you to make you aware of some of the issues that the people (who are responsible for making Home Depot such a profitable company that it is) are experiencing. I am talking about the customer. I am a customer and have been for a few years now and have spent a lot of my and my husband's hard earned money at our local Home Depot store in North Versailles, PA. We love to browse and dream of what we would like to purchase for our home.
We recently purchased a grill, bathroom cabinets, vanity and other not so cheap items, but our most recent purchase was a front load washer. The sales person did an excellent job convincing us to purchase it by telling us how we could save money because it is very energy efficient and that it had 2 great 'REBATES'. The washer was over $700 (which is almost 2 weeks pay for me). The 'REBATES' were for a gift card of $75 and the delivery charge of $55, so we figured that saves us $130. Hey it all sounded great; why not put ourselves further in debt for a $130 'REBATE'. Well that was on April 14. I logged onto the Home Depot Rebate Center then completed the on-line rebate forms for both rebates: #87993647 and #87993636 on April 15 and was informed that we would receive our rebates within 6-8 weeks. This letter is dated July 9 and I am sure that my math skills are not awful that I can not count to 11 going on 12 weeks. . Companies should not make promises that the have a hard time keeping'if it is going to take 10 ' 15 weeks then say so. It seems to me that the Home Depot Rebate system needs to be looked into and see where the problems are and fix them before you loose a lot of customers to the other leading home improvement store.
I have called and spoke on the telephone to James badge# 9694, Julie badge# 9898, and Mike; I received emails from Elisabeth badge# 9078 and Jeff # 9367. I have given the same information over and over and to be reassured over and over that I will receive my rebate (some day???). My time is just as important as anyone elses and I really don't want to waist it by talking to customer service people.
I know that this may not be such an important issue to you but I feel that if you are concerned about the consumers of your company that even the smallest problems with your company need to be dealt with. I also included with this letter many other complaints, I found on the Internet, about this issue and other customer service issues with Home Depot. Believe me this is just a few. The Internet is a wonderful tool for consumers and companies need to take heed.
Thank you for your time,
Michele

6 to 8 weeks turns into 3 to 4 months!!!

I had the same problem last year with them. The 6 to 8 week thing SHOULD be 3 to 4 months. I bought a mower with a $75.00 rebate in the form of a gift card and it took about 4 months to get.

I am serious about calling the store

If you contact the STORE MANAGER, and advise him how dissatisfied you are with the rebate fiasco, chances are he will do something to make it right!
The rebates are from a third party not affiliated with Home Depot. I dont like rebates in general from anywhere because its hit or miss with them.

Call the Store? Better yet the BBB!

Chances are that would be another waste of my time. Today, I received a new email from HOME DEPOT customer service stating they had to resubmit my rebate information again and that I will not receive my rebates for an additional 6 to 8 weeks. So now that will take me to nearly October (if they are telling the truth). April to October is well over 6 - 8 weeks! I am done with Home Depot customer service people, I am done with the Home Depot corporate offices and today I have contacted the BBB.

Have you advised the manager of the store of your situation?
They can and I bet are more than willing to help you.
Just a suggestion.
