11/23/07 I received letter stating account was adjusted due to an insurance disbursement. Effective 1/1/08 our new payment would be $2,011.77 due to forced insurance from Homecomings.
Spoke with Demetra in the Insurance Department. She said in May of 2007 they were informed by NJ Manufacturers that our insurance lapsed. She said they sent out a letter to us stating that we needed to get insurance. When they did not receive proof of insurance, they purchased forced insurance for us in the amount of $4,410.00, which was why our mortgage payment was increasing. She said that once I secured my own insurance and they received the proof, our mortgage payment would go back to $1644.27.
11/20/07 Insurance was reinstated through NJ Manufacturers.
12/12/07 spoke with Irma in the Insurance Department. They received proof of the insurance and it was entered into the system on 12/11/07. It would take about 3 weeks to receive the funds.
1/15/08 The system is still showing that our mortgage payment has not been reduced back to $1644.27. I spoke with Rebecca who explained that because the insurance lapsed in 5/07 and they received the new insurance in 11/07 the payment is still increased because there is still a negative balance in the escrow account ($2,053.50) for the amount of time that we were not insured. Therefore, the additional portion ($367.50) will be added to the $1644.27 until the escrow balance is at $0.00. The new payment is $2,011.77.
1/16/08 paid the entire balance ($4,065.27), which will make the escrow account balance $0.00.
1/28/08 spoke with Jeanette to inquire about a 30 day late payment that was listed on my credit report for May 2007. She said the payment was received on 6/15. When I asked her why was it being reported as 30 days late when it was received before 30 days she put me on hold and then we were disconnected. I called back and spoke with Amy, and asked her the same question. Again, the line was disconnected and then I heard a fast busy signal. Upon trying to contact the office again, my call would not go through. When I called, the phone would ring, then I would receive a fast busy signal.
2/25/08 received a call that payment was late.
2/26/08 I called and spoke with Jane, who explained that there was a problem with their system and the call was made in error. She explained that a letter would be going out to all customers that received these calls in a couple of weeks. When I asked her about the 30 day late payment that I inquired about on 1/28, the line was disconnected. When I called back, again, I could not get through. The line would ring and then I received a fast busy signal.
