I have had this account since July 2002 and have always paid the payments on time.
Suddenly in January 2006 (this year)I began getting phone calls from them saying I was late as much as 30 - 45 days which i knew i was never late on any.
HSBC began calling me every single day even after i gave them proof of my payments and when payments were made showing timely payments. I have never been late as they said I was.
Then finally one rep of theirs I was speaking with (one of the very few who speaks English well enough to carry on a conversation with) done some research and said the problem was I didnt make a payment in December of 2005 which threw the payments there on into 30 day late status.
Well, then thing is I told her to review on back to the month before that and she would find that I made November and December payment in November so as to have the payment paid up for Christmas to allow more Christmas money.
She then told me they must have applied one payment to the principle of the loan and that there was nothing she could do about it and I would have to pay another payment. I refused. Later the next day another called and I had to explain it all over again.
This one told me it wasnt that they applied it this was that Nov. and Dec. pmt was credited right but I was still behind over 30 days. I again gave proof of every payment and the date showing not being late on any.
I finally came down to what they said was insurance problem. They added insurance because they said I didnt have insurance.
Well, another flub up of theirs I have never been without insurance. They then told me to fax the insurance info to them so they could correct it. I did so and called to confirm reciept of the fax. In which they said they had it.
Two days later the phone rings again and low and behold guess who? Right HSBC. Same thing over again. Within 1 and 1/2 months i had to fax the insurance to HSBC eight (8) times and my insurance company faxed it twice.
Then after all that I had to threaten them with turning the car in to them due to HSBC's breach of contract. They asked me if i was willingly turning the car in as a repo and I said NO, I am turning it in due to HSBC's breach of contract. They then got their act together and credited my account correctly.
Now, my problem is they told me they had turned it in on my credit report every time it was shown as being 30 days late which would be approximately 5 - 6 times and they refuse to remove it from my credit. I think this is a crime isnt it? If not it should be.
Fine way to treat a 4 year customer with on time payments every month.
By the way i still owe over $6900.00 on a loan i have already paid over $13,700.00 on in the past 4 years and still owe the $6900.00 = totalling over $20,000.00
I was lead to believe it was a 48 month loan in the beginning.

What breach of contract did you find that you told them out? I am curious to know if it would apply to my situation. I receive up to 15 calls a day some days, all about bogus insurance money I supposedly owe them for insurance THEY took out on the truck we financed with them even though we have continously faxed our insurance and our insurance company has faxed it.
